Sooo. What are your first impression of the new album?

A friend and I did a Metallica night with the final this morning when the album arrived. I just fucking love it! The tracks are so powerfull it just blew me straight over.

Why don't they die yet? Seriously.

I don't like it at all. Senile people can't make good music. Some of the new songs are mostly okay; there are some great parts, but they have to do something to fuck up the song at one point or another.

So unless you're a Metallica fan and would listen to every shit they make regardless of the quality, well, I wouldn't recommend it to anyone.

I like metal. I really do. Amon Amarth, Children of Bodom, Slayer, Slipknot, you name it. But Metallica just grates on my fucking nerves. The lead singer's voice irritates the hell out of me, and it doesn't help that the riffs in every song they make sound so similar that they might as well be interchangeable. They really should just stop making music, 'cause all they're doing right now is clogging my radio with crap.

I like it. After listening to it a few times, I can comfortably say, that it's no revelation, but a good album nevertheless. The biggest problem is (like Shadowmage said): the tracks are mostly not that memorable - I can't think of the melodies of more than half the tracks even after hearing them 4-5 times.

A few killer tracks that remind me of the golden days, a few bland ones, and a big helping of Nickelback-syndrome.

What's that? Every track sounds the same? Shouldn't that be called Coldplay syndrome?

It was rather disappointing. Especially Unforgiven 3...

Nickelback did it first. Every single Nickelback song is completely interchangeable. I mean, I like them, but it's a bit ridiculous.
