Hmm I think it's possible. I didn't read the fic in its entirety, it was something that I personally didn't like but the fic was acceptable. That's actually pretty hypocritical as I usually rate based on personal preference.

Some might enjoy it and I also rate on the basis that something that achieves a 3/5 rating will go into the recycle bin but not the library. I felt that this should go into the recycling bin because some might enjoy it and that my personal dislike shouldn't in this case rubbish a better than average (notice the word average) fanfic. Personally I didn't dislike the fic particularly, anything I'm apathetic towards receives a 2/5 should it pass the S&G muster, because this fic had some good ideas that made it slightly different I felt it ranked a 3.

That's the problem with a 1-5 system, it is ambiguous for those fics that verge around the average. That said I like the DLP system of ratings it's generally effective at forcing people to critically judge.

 

He read a few chapters. 3/5 is just for grammer and the like, which I find very generous.

 

Agreed. I personally enjoyed the story, but lost interest when I had to transition over to the sequel.

 

I couldn't get into the story. I really tried.

Harry's constant "ZMFG I CAN'T GO TO T3H DUMBLZ OR T3H MACGONAGAL" all the time was FTL.

Also, Hermione throwing her overies on Harry every chance she got . . . when her boyfriend was dying in a hospital just struck me as totally batshit insane.
