I really enjoyed this episode. Especially Bobby. When he disowned Sam, I should have known that something wasn't right. But it made for an amazing scene played perfectly by Jim and Jared. As with the Bobby and Sam scene at the end.

It sucks about Bobby's legs, though. I can't believe he's paralyzed! I think his hunting career is pretty much done.

I liked what they did with Mark and Lucifer. With the tragedy that happened to Mark's wife and baby, I can understand why he would want be angry at God. Hell, many of us have felt the same way when we lose someone we love. So it was perfectly understandable why would allow Lucifer to enter his body.

I loved this little scene between the two of them:

    Lucifer: "My name is Lucifer."
Nick (very skeptical): "Sure. Naturally. Um - could you do me a favor there, Satan, and remind me to quit drinking before I go to bed."

Dude, I knew right away that wasn't Bobby--that, or I was gonna be super pissed at the writers for exploiting his character that way. Poor Sam, though, with the kicked puppy face... D:

I loved the scenes with Lucifer's vessel. I actually thought they were some of the more powerful scenes in the episode--the bit with the baby crib and the blood and all had me super freaked out and then choked up at the guy's reaction. And Satan, you are a smooth criminal! You always forget that the devil has a silver tongue, but that was well played indeed.

Something that bothered me about the episode was the whole 'Bobby stabs himself' with the Knife-that-kills-all and somehow only the demon possessing him dies? I was like NOO! but then WHAAT? Bobby, I loves ya, but you should be dead.

But all in all, an awesome episode. I'm glad Castiel's back, although, if he got 'sploded, he shouldn't have the same vessel, right? So something's fishy there. But hooray anyway! I surely missed the Dean/ Sam interactions. I wish that bit at the end had more impact for me, but we all know they'll be thick as thieves in no time. Can't wait for next week.

Excellent episode. I have high hopes for the season to be one epic ride!
    First off:
    - "Thank God, the Angels are here."
    - "Can you stop touching me?" "No." Bit of an 0_0 moment, but I was laughing to much to care.
    - Bobby - oh man. Good dramatic stuff. I didn't catch on to him being a demon condom until he actually hit Dean. Before that, I seriously thought he was gonna disown Sam.
    - Goddamn, I like the new Meg. Not as great as the old one, but she's got this thing about her... hot too!
    - Mark Pellegrino as the Lucy-Meatsuit: Haunting, chilling, creepy as hell.

Can't wait 'till next week. Some old faces coming back, it looks like.

Firstly, Bobby. I thought it was him until he hit Dean as well. It just didn't occur to me, it looked like Bobby, and sounded like Bobby, so yeah. :/ Not to mention that Bobby has always been the strong one, the one who checked for that shit, the brothers never were.

The new Meg? She seems really trashy to me, tbh. :/ She is decent though.

The actor for Lucifer looks EXCELLENT though. He really seems as if he will play the part well. Looks it at least, hope he is a competent actor.

I think I might watch the episode again, actually.

Edit: The intro with the song is really great too.

Also, is it just me, or are the special effects looking better as well? When Lucifer came out of the ground, I first noticed it, it seems a big improvement from what I can remember. Same with the explosion in... Baltimore? Rest looks better too.

    So.

    This episode.

    Wow.

Tbh I thought at first that Lucifer moved Sam and Dean away.

I kind of liked the idea of him being a friend/Enemy to Dean and Sam.

Helping them and impeding them at the same time, you know?

That was my initial feeling too. And I hoped that was the case. But with Castiel back it seems they are suggesting God is back, or maybe another angel faction.

I knew Bobby was demon possessed straight off the bat when he entered their room and they didn't check him.

Meg being back made me happy.

Lucifer actor has a tough job ahead of him because Alistair was so evil badass that he'll be hard to out do. But I think they will write Lucifer character to be less obviously evil.

I don't know if this has been mentioned or not, but where is Jesus in the Supernatural universe? Did he even exist therein or have the writers simply removed him from things all together? If God has left the building, as it was so put last season, and Jesus remained up there in Heaven than what about him? Either he followed God elsewhere or he is still around, possibly even waiting for the right time to interfere. The only reason I can doubt Jesus hasn't left as well is the way the Angels were acting. Surely he would have kept them in line, unless, just like the rest of the lot, the writers plan on making him something of an indifferent(at best) dick.

HOLY SHIT: Just watched the first episode.

    Lets see:
    epic Lucifer getting his host.
Plot twist of Dean being the Michael Sword and intended vessel
Meg returns! (Though I liked the original actress more, her cutsy look made it seem all the more terrifying)
Bobby is possessed and then crippled! (Though really, dude should have died...)
Slash fangirl made me laugh. Seems like the writers aren't done mocking them...
Chuck is always good to see, my favorite character.
Castiel returns thanks to God (or Jesus or whatever factions in charge) and kills two fellow Angels rather impressivly.
The speech Dean made to Bobby was awesome and all the more realistic following his blowup with Sam.

All in all, an excellent starter episode, and I can't wait for more. Lucifer is quickly looking to replace Chuck as my favorite character.

The Knife isn't the Colt. Pretty sure the knife just does in the demon ...unless they slash the throat as the boys seem to enjoy doing. So Bobby living through it makes enough sense. On the other hand, there haven't been any other survivors and I certainly don't recall every time the knife has been used. Plus, if it is just a Knife of +7 Demonslaying, you could work in the idea that they only had to knick the host/meatsuit somewhere inconsequential and it'd have the same effect with less mortal murdering. And that's just lame.

The Lucifer/Vessel scenes were absolutely awesome and I hope that's not the last of the mind-fuck horror moments.

As usual, any screentime given to the writer and that whole idea makes me cringe.

Zachariah was pretty badass, "Thank god, the angels are here." made me chuckle and the actor who plays Castiel is still difficult to like.

Alright very cool episode lots of awesome moments, first am I the only one who was wondering what might have happened if they'd just wiped the blood up a bit when he was coming? Next I do think Lucifer put them on the plane and brought Castiel back as methods for scoring brownie points with both the brothers and the other lesser angels.
Castiel's over all story arc for the season is supposed to be finding God and thats also part of the plot for the next episode is him beginning his search, it doesnt make much sense to me for him to have to go looking if hes already that involved
I think that Lucifer brought Castiel back as a way of saying to the lesser angels "Hey look what God's pals did to your friend, but dont worry I fixed him right up for you, also when he does the same to you because he decides you weren't obedient enough because I'm such a nice guy Ill help you guys too." Also very much enjoyed Rachel Miner's Meg, she got across the sexy sadism very well in my opinion.

about 4:15 min into it - Bobby getting free and stabbing himself.
about 7:20 Bobby has a gut wound, above his belt and slightly on the right side. Not a lot of blood lost, considering. I'd have expected Bobby's clothes to be soaked from collar to socks.

He stabbed himself in the abdomen. It was a lethal injury, but not *immediately* mortal. The demon died, but the Winchesters can be presumed to be highly skilled in first aid. They got Bobby to the ER, and the hospital did emergency surgery. Actually, Baltimore has a Trauma Center: I'll figure Sam and Dean took him there.

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L_aUg-hYM0s
The doctor said that Bobby was "unlikely to walk again."
Unless Bobby managed to actually reach all the way through and damage his own spine (from the *front,* you'll note,) I assume the damage was to the deep nerves controlling his right leg.

    Does anyone know better?

Hes still in the chair up to episode 7 which is supposed to center around him as a stand-alone episode and they haven't confirmed beyond that yet.

Also I believe Zachariah may have had something to do with it considering he shot Sam with his finger, took his lungs and gave Dean stage four stomach cancer just by saying the words, he made threats about Bobby never walking again so there is a possibility that, that wasn't a threat but him in fact making it happen.

Awesome should be spelled 'Kripke', not only does he give us an awesome episode he stands up to and intensifies the fangirl-mockery on the fucking PILOT. Damn I wish the guys who run tv networks had half as much balls as him, things would be so much better.

This episode had so many suprises, the audience has whiplash.

"Glamour shots" of his chest X-rays. The technicians probably quit early and went straight to the nearest bar. Come to think of it - tattoos could be on their way out. Bone carving is the new statement when you want to prove that you can make a commitment.

Dean's amulet is an artifact that locates God. Words fail me. Really.

I was delighted that the victims were able to talk each other into reason, but it took too damn long for sanity to check in.

    Red Mustang. Gorgeous.

I always liked Ellen. A lot.

Sam leaving was unexpected, but Dean simply letting go is a shock and a half. Where does Sam intend to go? I doubt the Betty Ford clinic can dry out THIS little addiction.

    Edited to add:
I was wondering if Dean was Death - with the Impala - but Death rides a pale horse. Famine rides a black horse.
I can see Sam as Famine. He's been searching for something more for his entire life. And since Jess's murder, he has spent the last four years going from *need* to *need*.

Gotta say I was fairly damned disappointed with Dean tonight, I wasn't expecting a blow out but something a little more than a "Yep okay, I agree your dragging me down, see ya." Also what was with him and that scene after the grocery store? Sam says he wishes he didnt have to cut a kids throat and Dean gives him shit for it? Other than that I greatly enjoyed the episode, Ellen was amazing as usual, Jo for all three lines she had was good, War wasn't as intimidating as I thought he'd be, honestly I just found him irritating, Rufus was still a lovable old coot and poor Sammy.

Actually, Dean has just given up trying to reach Sam. They were each so badly damaged by Dean's Deal, and the year-long countdown to damnation, and the Trickster. The threads between the Winchester boys are frayed down to little more than habit and training - and now Dean can't even count on Sam's training any more.

I kinda agree with Dean - Sam has been leaving for more than a year. The world is coming to an end, and Sam is *flawed.* Think of him as a recovering heroin addict: would YOU trust him at your back? Ever been around someone trying to kick cigarettes? They tend to be mean and edgy and nervy - and that's just nicotine.

No I dont he showed no signs of lapsing, he did everything he was told without question and he did it well, there was no reason for Dean to give him the amount of shit he did. Especially considering he was just trying to seriously talk to Dean about how he really wished he didnt have to slit a kids throat.

Also on different note even Raphael thinks God is dead according to the preview which I found interesting.

The episode was pretty good overall but I was a bit disappointed with War. I guess to me his method of delivery just wasn't that interesting and I don't understand why the small scale. Making people hallucinate the other was a demon seemed a bit weak. I was hoping for something more primal. Loved the car though.

Dean's amulet also seemed a bit random. I had read awhile back that Dean's amulet was supposed to have some special purpose but at least elaborate on it a bit more. I could of sworn Sam made it for his Dad on Christmas but gave it to Dean instead. How does something Sam make track God?

War was cool, in a sort-of detached calm kinda way. As calm as can be causing shit loads of chaos. But, I'd have to admit that he could've done better. I would've given him full marks if all the townspeople had actually massacred each other - like in the final little battle nearing the end - I wanted to see death left and right. Not to say that a priest getting shot and Sammy cutting off War's finger wasn't cool, but a full-blown massacre in the final scenes would've made War higher in my formidable badass book.

Still a good episode. Ellen, Jo and Rufus are always good to see. The Dean/Sam split off is fine with me, as long as it sticks maybe past one episode. Just one.
