No real information yet, but supposedly a CGI Warhammer 40K starring you guessed it, the Ultramarines, is coming.

CGI might be the only way to do Warhammer 40K justice.

I just wish they had stared with a CGI Horus Heresy. That would have made me shit myself with happiness.

Thoughts? There are no visuals yet, but what say you?

Wow! Maybe if we're really lucky, it'll be as good as Fire Warrior!

    Shit....

Can't you be hopeful instead of jaded and sarcastic?

And I never played Fire Warrior, so

I've got very few hopes for this. Most of the fluff surrounding Ultramarines either makes them out to be 2d characters that need only their love for the Emperor to see them through the day, and are near enough perfect warriors. Never really enjoyed the Ultramarines books >_>. Would have been better if they made a CGI for Gaunt's Ghosts or, though there is the potential for massive fail, Ciaphas Cain.

I despise the Ultramarines, though I suppose they really can't fail too hard with an already failing Legion/Chapter.

I'm pretty sure that Gaunt's Ghosts could easily be made into a live action film. They are, after all, IG, so that should make it considerably easier. There would be a lot of CG though. the book series was win in it's purest form.

Haha, there's even an in-universe TV series of Cain's adventures... Suitably edited for propaganda purposes of course.

Never liked the Emperor and the fanatic marines, I'm rather on the side of the Eldars. And a Legion of the Damned would be awesome.

So...you support the race that fucked the universe over, literally, by spawning the chaos gods over a humanity that has been forced to into what it is just to survive?

I find it sad that the Eldar actually think they have any right, as a species, to rule the galaxy after what they've done.

Just watched the trailer, the film looks like shit. I'm a major fan of 40K, but that film looks dire.

The marines are fanatics but the eldar literally fucked the entire universe, killing off billions/trillions of their own kind and basically doing the same to humanity by fucking up transportation.

That isn't to say that His Divine Majesty isn't also fucking over the galaxy (Fucking tyranids, how do they work?) but everything man does is simply to recover from the massive blow it suffered when the eye of terror opened.

I just downloaded it, watched it. I was expecting it to be shit, and it might well be in some people's opinions, but I enjoyed it. The CGI was far from top-notch, the acting was great, and the story was fairly engaging. I'm not a huge 40K buff, but I enjoy the games and the style.

I don't know too much about the Ultramarines, and initially I was thrown off by the many references to their chapter homeworld, Macragge(sp?). There were a handful of other things that irked me, but they were all superficial and just me being a nerd.

Yes,it's awesome. I don't know why, but I always liked them better, no matter what I read/play/watch.

Eldar are the Elves of 40k, so it's not unusual that they'd have a large fanbase. I collected them myself back when I used to play (because I like hit & run tactics more than slugfests). Tyranids are my real favourites though, and it's a shame that there aren't more Black Library novels centred around them or the genestealers.

    Shit needs more Patriarchs.

I had the opportunity to watch this movie, but it wasn't really all that great, to be honest. CGI was fucking awesome though, I'll give them props for that. Movie could have been better though, honestly. Although they did do a good job with the CGI and the fighting.
