Those kids are extroverted enough that chances are they have a few friends who think this is as hilarious as they do.

I don't personally think this is that outrageous; it's just something kids do to get a laugh. I am a little surprised that they could do the whole thing with a straight face, though. You don't see that kind of professionalism in many teenagers.

You speak the truth, being a recent high school grad I can attest to this; though the skanky hoes that hang out with the jocks are also on that bandwagon. From my experience nobody really cared if you were nerdy or weird, and in a lot of cases it was encouraged (which was slightly confusing freshman year since I was ready to face the usual stereotypes).
