    League of Legends

One of the few good dota inspired games. It borrows heavily from the gameplay elements of dota, however retains a fair few onvious and distinct concepts that set it a part from HoN and DotA itself.

There was a beta thread in the forum, but I felt that it warranted a new thread considering it's moved out of beta and into retail. Currently there are 47 heroes to choose from and each week ten of those become avalible to play for free accounts.

You don't have to pay to play, the game works on two sets of points.

    Riot points and Influence points.

You can purchase Riot points to buy content, except runes.

You can earn Influence points to buy content, except for skins.

I personally adore this game, it's fun and pretty easy to play. I know a few on DLP still play it from the beta, however, I'm not sure who they are. So give a hollar in this thread for your in-game name if you're already playing, or give us your newly created summoner name. ;)

    InariOfRaith is mine.

    Yeah, yeah, I know. :p

Played it few month ago, was buggy and laggy as hell, I've not played since.

I've been playing it for 2 weeks, 1 match had lag, few bugs here.

It's basically a cleaner version of DotA. Oh, and mage heroes aren't completely useless after midgame (finally). Bought Soraka, Janna, and Morgana and been playing them, they're all pretty good support/CC heroes.

The rune system is nice, though runes aren't really worth it until you've gotten enough points to be level 20. It's fairly balanced, and for me, the removal of denying is a great addition (despite what some dota players will think).

Stealth heroes are pretty OP, as usual, though.

if you're having trouble with stealth heroes buy an oracle potion, they become such a small problem when you do.

Hey awesome that you guys play this. You can add me on Chaoticblues and we'll play together some time.

Update your graphics card and the problem should go away unless you have a really bad computer.

I've played both and currently I find LoL more enjoyable then HoN, but to each their own.

Yeah HoN IS Dota 2.0... but LoL is a refreshing change of pace. I'm better at HoN but I enjoy LoL more. LoL is like -easymode Hon because the map size is smaller and the fact that there are more ambush areas + routes makes it so you can't just ward everything. This encourages more group fights+ganking and also more dynamic play(backdooring can happen alot). The only thing that requires more skill in for LoL is the skillshot spells. In fact, the majority of offensive spells don't target/follow enemies so you actually have to possess decent timing to use them.

My summoner name is Darje1 because somebody used Darje. *grumble grumble*

Just downloaded it and I'm about try it out. (I loved DOTA, only custom map I'd play online in WC3)

    Y..You bastard! DOPPLEGANGER!

Anyway yeah, Ezreal is a pure skillshot hero. His spells can be a bitch to land, but there is nothing more staisfying then using his ulti to get a double kill from across the map.

Are there formal clans? Or just a group that would play together?

Not yet, but it's intended. If you want to group together just add each other as friends, and when you see others online invite them to a game and que together. It's what I do.

I still haven't rounded up enough points to buy Ezreal yet, though I would probably buy Gragas first.

I'd love to start playing again (despite having bridge competitions over the next 3 months, then national exams 6 months after).... But I believe I told Jon about how they IP banned every single Malaysian, Singaporean, Fillipino, and Indonesian IP out of the US servers. With one day notice.

I'll give it a shot, name is practicemage. I don't like the idea of not being able to deny though, was a major part of dota =/

I just started playing more often. My name in game is the same as my name here. I really like Pantheon and Zilian, but I'm not that good at the game.
