Alright, so I was posting a very long post on the Plot Bunny Thread when I accidentally pressed the "Back" button and I lost all carefully planned out 3000 words.

Is there a way to make sure that I don't lose everything if my computer runs out of battery or something similar?

As far as I know Opera stores what you type (as long as you can hit the forward button again). Use Opera.

Otherwise, welcome to the club: I think everyone has lost a long ass post at one point. I type very long posts in Word (with Autosave on), and c/p into DLP when I'm done. Alternatively, make repeated use of Mark All --> Copy To Clipboard. When the whole things crashes, you can simply re-paste it in.

If you're looking for something for Firefox, Lazarus Form Recovery stores field information in case you're browser crashes or you close by accident or hitting back.... I'm liking it pretty well...

Safari (On a mac at least) stores what you type as well. I just have to press the forward button.

It's quite annoying though, I must say. Especially because delete makes the browser go back, if the text box isn't highlighted.

Edit: Johnny below me has the right idea I'd say.

If you are typing an extremely long post, type it in a word processor before you c/p it.
