Anyone else seen this episode? Rupert Grint (Ron Weasley) was on this weeks Top Gear. I thought the show was fairly average and I enjoyed the episode with Michael Gambon (Dumbledore) more. Still, Top Gear is the best show ever made so the episode was still a win in my book.

Ah, I saw that! Didn't he get top place on the lap times scoreboard or something...?

How can he be a good actor if he has no idea of the character he's portraying, or the situation he's in?

Lol, the last turn on the Top Gear track is named after Gambon - or rather, in homage to how horribly he took that turn in both RPCCs.

On topic: it always amazes me how un-douchey Grint is.

This for sure. He seems to be a really good actor.

Agree, he's done a good job with a harder part - he's definitely the butt monkey of the three lead characters, but I think he's played it well and stayed pretty accurate to the character.

Also, topping the TG leaderboard is cool, even if he's a ginger.

How hard can it be to portray a person with the emotional depth of a teaspoon?

Other stuff I've seen him in, he's been pretty good. Much better than Daniel Radcliffe anyway; although most people who call themselves actor's can do better than Daniel Radcliffe.

Agreed, although I must say that his acting in B6 under felix felicis was some funny shit.

To portray them well, so the character is still interesting and (relatively) likable despite not being the swiftest pigeon in the flock: probably quite hard, I'd guess. Especially since he has to play the character at least roughly as scripted and whose traits have, if anything, been exaggerated in the movies (contrast to Hermione, who seems somewhat toned down from the books).

And I agree that he's done a better job than Daniel Radcliffe. I think maybe Daniel's been a little unlucky in which scenes were kept vs. which were cut (he seems to have to do a lot of shouting to prove that Harry's an Angry Teenager) but still reckon some of it could have been done better. Of course, that's easy to say as an armchair critic :)
