Now that's idea for massive AU story. Quidditch star player, Tom Riddle alias Voldemort (as in this theory it's derived from the French for "flight of death") is getting old. There is new, skilled player who wants to take Riddle place as main Seeker in the England National Quidditch team - Harry Potter. It's not helping that both of them are also fighting for love of young healer named Nymphadora Tonks (Riddle because she reminds him of his old, lost love - Bellatrix Black).

Also, their coach, Albus Dumbledore has his own rival in person of Gellert Grindelwald the Bulgarian National Quidditch team trainer and these two will do everything for the greater good of their teams.

 

... No. You've taken an idea... which has some comedic potential, and completely ruined it.

 

Reminds me of the gay-theatre-Hogwarts blown to smithereens by badass!Harry in Dimension Hopping for Beginners. Comedic value: yes; this steaming pile of fail: Hell no.

 

I've seriously just been sitting here laughing for a minute picturing that plot. And that's the only time I'd laugh at it. It is funny in my head because of how fucking ridiculous it is.

 

I see most people didn't get what this plot bunny is all about. It's basically every cliché from sports movies in one fic about Quidditch!Riddle, so it should be ridiculous. I should probably point that out in my original post.

 

It's not ridiculously funny though, it's ridiculously dumb. And sad.

 

I'd say it's personal preference, but whatever. It's not like I plan to write this, just thought of most sport movies added Quidditch!Riddle and that's what I saw in my mind.

 

I just had the weirdest plot bunny: Harry gets cursed by this book and has to go through Hogwarts with the magical disability of being unable to ever stop reading it. That would be hilarious if written by the right person.

 

Maybe instead of Harry asking the book about the Chamber, he asks. "Do you know any good magic?" and the book responds with "I can tell you, or I can show you." Puts the idea of learning from books to a whole new level.

 

Err...Voldemort, even when he was a kid, wasn't really big on sharing....why the hell would he teach any magic to Harry?

Possibly try to possess him yes...teach him magic? A big NO.

Though that does give me a small idea. Harry keeps the diary longer than he did in canon, just enough that Riddle, curiosity already piqued by Ginny's mentions of the Boy-Who-Lived, can try to possess him. He may or may not succeed completely, but does get far enough to realize that Harry houses one of his many soul fragments. From there, you could go in so many directions.

Like, knowing that Harry is basically a Horcrux and thus essential to his own continued existence, Riddle changes tactics. Instead of his original stupidity of advertising Ginny's abduction, he takes a subtler route. He regains his body and sets to turning Harry to his side. And since till Riddle basically spelled it out to him, Harry had no idea that Riddle was Voldemort and for some reason he actually trusted the memory, at least somewhat, it might even succeed. Or since no one would know that Ginny had gone missing if he got done fast enough, he could supposedly leave just enough of her life that she doesn't die and remains an almost empty husk and then he could possess her and try to corrupt Harry as a friend?

I know my ideas are probably sucky, but it'd be a cool story to read if someone talented actually picks it up.

 

While I don't have a plot to go along with this image, I've always pictured Harry with the scar expanding all over his face bleeding. The scar always reacted to proximity to Voldemort and such, occasionally it bled, thought it could be taken one step further.

Also, I've been kicking around the idea of Harry getting a dementor to kiss him in order to suck Voldemort's soul out, bringing both of them to Kings Cross. Both strike me as kinda angsty, which I tend to shy away from.

The author mis-spells Susan Bones' name as Susan Burns... and in the movie, I've always thought that McGonnagal pronounced it almost that way too...

I'd like the idea if and only if Susan were a paranoid schizophrenic who obssessivly studied nuclear science and her Hufflepuff loyalty was to wizards to destroy muggles who have harnessed atomic energy and she believes wizards must take over the world to prevent a nuclear holocaust.

Seen that done in a fic once, though I can't remember what. Harry figures that the reason dementors were so horny for him in PoA was because he was a Horcrux/ Rows out to Azkaban and has a dementor tongue it out of him. Snape backs him up and gets him out of there before they can take the good soul too.

 

Very obvious plot bunny - crossover Inception/Harry Potter.

Make it that coming into dreams is some even more obscure variation of Legilimency and it's only way Harry can discover locations of Horcruxes - he needs to steal this information from sleeping mind of Voldemort.

 

Well, I do have a half baked plot bunny or two floating around my rather empty head that I don't have any real interest in following up at the moment.

Maybe someone here can make use of them/adapt them for use?

One involves either Fleur, Daphne, Romilda, Cho or Tonks turning obsessive/possessive over Harry, ala Fatal Attraction (more accurately, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Erotomania).

Fleur: this could happen during the Triwizard Tournament. Potential reasons? Harry is unaffected by her allure thus gaining her interest, saves her sister thus 'proving his love for her' or something, not interested in her, not what she expected, etc etc. Could use Bill in an attempt to get Harry jealous/get close to the Weasleys and thus Harry, etc.
Romilda: failed love potion scenario aftermath in Harry's sixth year. I don't think there's that much canon information on her, so she could be classified as an OC, right?
Daphne: since she's an OC, essentially, could be for any reason at any time. Could be a natural schizophrenic, bipolar, etc. Possible because she sees the 'inner-Slytherin' within the Gryffindor?
Cho: even if Harry's interest in Cho burned out, and for some odd reason in canon he started to focus on Ginny, Cho could go down the nutty path, especially if some delusion about Cedric is involved.
Tonks: would be the most difficult, probably near impossible, but the idea of a 'off the nut' Metamorphmagus stalking Harry could be good for a psychological/thriller aspect of the story. Maybe something post-Sirius death causes the spark?

Possible general reasons: learns of a love potion plot by Ginny, seeks to 'protect' Harry or something?

Hermione is also an option, although doubtful because she's always -for some odd reason- been hung up on Ron, right? Unless it started and grew out from within their initial meeting/first year and sprouted throughout the following school years? Reasoning: Hermione didn't have many friends before Hogwarts, or something, sees Harry as something precious?

The second idea would involve Hermione going dark post-Hogwarts, or revealing her true colours post Hogwarts and becoming a Dark Lady? Could be about her trying to get equal rights for muggleborn witches/wizards and other creatures like werewolves, like an inverted Voldemort. There was a fiction piece on ff.net somewhere showing a Dark Hermione, keeping Harry ignorant/drugged while she took over the wizarding world.

 

God no.

First, please leave Romilda, Daphne, and Cho out of it. Daphne gets enough shitty stories as it is, and Cho and Romilda don't have enough stories out there to override what is written...

That being said, Romilda going nuts over Harry is canon, and if done well (Calz, I'm looking at you) is brilliant. 'Done well' is key. Here are my problems:

1) The 'Harry isn't affected by veela' is not only your standard Harry/Fleur opening, it's boring and nonsensical. The only thing as retarded is Tonks' breaking down in tears when Harry asks to 'see her as she really is'. Also, Harry does stupidly heroic things anyway - saving her sister is canon - and thus is a terrible way to prove his love (which is also a terrible plot device while we're at it). Then using Bill to make him jealous is also retarded. In fact, I could switch this Fleur into Ginny and have it be one of the core reasons people hate the Harry/Gin-gin (up to and including the bit where she uses Bill...).

I won't go into detail on the 'ideas' you've given for the other three, primarily because they're not so much bad ideas as no ideas at all.

Basically, you've got no plot, you just want to see a hot chick go nuts over Harry's nuts, and can't come up with an original way to get there. Your post boils down to 'Harry should get some, and here's a list of possible candidates'. Trufax: this is something that's been on the table for over a decade now.

Now, having said that.


Harry ends up in an alternate dimension where in classic fangirl fashion, Snape apoligized to Lily and she herpderps and recognizes 'Sev' as her one true love. They even have a son with greasy black hair and green eyes. Harry decides the only solution is to purge the entire world with fire.

 

I have a quick plot idea.

Starts off with the often used but rarely done well cliche of Metamorphmagus!Harry

Now there are several reason on how Harry could be a metamorphmagus, but it will not stem from the often seen 'hair being cut off and growing back the next day' idea. I am partial the second most common way it is done as it is slightly more logical and believable.

Some logical assumptions have to be made first off. We know that Tonks is a Metamorphmagus, as is her son. That indicates that the trait is hereditary. The question is from which side? Her father is Ted Tonks, a muggleborn wizard, and going on the idea that true muggleborns cannot gain genetic rare abilities such as seeing or metamorphmagus, that means Tonks inherited her ability from the Black side of the family.

Now, it is ovious where this is going and we have all probably seen a fic like this allready, but I have not gotten to where this particular idea is used yet. Now obviously most people have seen this Black family tree that shows a Charlus Potter marrying a Dorea Black. The generation they are from could be grandparents, but I find it more likely that they would be great grandparents. It does not take a big leap to say that they are in fact Harry's Great Grandparents.

And since the conenction between Black blood and metamorphmagus has been shown, Harry miraculously is born with this rare talent.

Now the point. Harry graduation from Hogwarts, with whatever pairing and storyline you want. MerlinHouse!Harry and AuroraSinistra/Harry ship for all I care... It is the post Hogwarts stuff I am interested in.

Harry, being slightly sadistic and in need of money, becomes either a hitwizard, assassin, or bounty hunter, whichever you fancy.

Now Harry, being a Metamorphmagus, can take on many different faces and bodies. He would take a face and name, and commit some acts befitting of a Dark Lord and gain some notoriety.

Harry, being a bounty hunter, would take on the task of getting rid of the new Dark Lord, which just happens to be himself. He would collect the bounty, and start the process over again. The way proof is submitted of the deed is up to the authors discretion, but there are many ways that it could be done creatively and uniquely.

Harry would quickly rise up to the top of the ranks, being the best bounty hunter to ever live. He would have the best success rate and make the most money. And at the same time, he would be filling his sinful desires by killing random people and general acts of terrorism under his assumed forms.

 

Bounty hunter = Hit Wizard in the HP world... I think.
