I don't know if there is a thread for this film already but I couldn't find one so I'll post it anyway.

I just saw 'The Room' in a cinema a few nights ago for the first time and it was probably the best cinema experience I've ever had!

Any of you who don't know about 'The Room', it's basically a film made back in 2003 by a guy called Tommy Wiseau, who wrote, directed, produced and stared as the main character (always a good sign for a movie). The plot is about a guy who's 'future wife' and best friend have an affair behind his back and everything gets worse from there. Read the wiki article for more detail.

    Here's the trailer:

The movie is awful. It's so bad some people are calling it the 'Citizen Kane' of bad movies. From the beginning it sets a high bar on the low quality and you have to admire it for keeping the low quality consistent in ever single scene. Cliché plots, shoddy camera work, bad acting, abandoned sub plots, 'The Room' has it all and more. It's like if someone took a bad fanfiction and decided to make a movie out of it.

And though 'The Room' is great to watch on its own for the so bad its good value, it's the audience interaction that really makes this a unique experience.
At the screening I was at the audience yelled, screamed, catcalled, shouted insults at the characters, at one point sang happy birthday and threw copious amounts of spoons at the screen. Because this is becoming somewhat of a cult classic along the lines of 'rocky horror picture show', it's already got a list of excepted audience reactions. All this adds together to make one hell of a good time, most people when not yelling something negative about the movie were laughing there asses off and for the last few minutes of the movie and the credits the whole audience gave it a standing ovation.

All I can say is if 'The Room' comes to a cinema near you, go and see it! You'll regret it and you won't at the same time.

Almost thought the movie was a spoof when I saw the trailer.

Proud film makers everywhere wish it were.

If you check the other clips on youtube you get a true idea of what this film is like. It's basically made up of those clips and stock footage of San Francisco.

Nostalgia Critic reviewed it a while ago

Which was removed due to copyright notice. (completely disregarding fair use & parody protection in the DMCA)

    Which inspired this:

Also, production was apparently fairly lulzy.

    My favorite part:

Lisa-"Johny didn't get the job. Last night he got really drunk, and he hit me."
    Lisa's mom-"Johny doesn't drink..."

I can't edit so I guess double post.

I thought The Room was the worst movie I'd ever see.

    I was wrong.

Seriously, this movie is fucking scary. Think of Ed Wood's films. Now think of Ed wood only 500x worse.

What's even worse? This is a 2009 film! It had a budget of $5 million! Look at that CGI! Look at the sets! $5 million? WTF?
