    Awesome. Sounds fun.

Why would it be useless?

Ah I saw the Widow. Of course I was a soldier at the time and got the horrible machine gun with its terribad aim. It was my first time through.

Awesome. I might not have so much trouble recruting Grunt.

    Hm...Definitely trying that out then.

*sighs* I'd play a FemShep but Hale's voice.... Voiced PCs are better my ass.

Heretic. Hale's voice acting is best voice acting.

I'm not saying Meer is actually good but...Hale sounds like she's forcing herself to be BA.

And since I mostly place Nice guy/gal Paragades it's even worse.

...Her voice just bugs me. I mean at least with Meer I can laugh it off but Hale just makes me cringe.

I don't know why she choose that voice for FemShep I love both Bastila's and Naomi's voices but she just...dropped the ball on ME.

I'd prefer it if she used that English accent Naomi and Bastila had. I still think what's there is pretty good, though.

Yes if FemShep sounded like Bastila I would never play Male Shep. Alas. What could've been... :(

Also...a Mass Effect movie? WTF is BioWare thinking? The only way it wouldn't suck is if they did something like the Prince of Persia movie did. Completely ignore everything that happened in the game with a spare few ideas.

And the damn game already plays out like a movie so...again why?

Or just base it somewhere or sometime else in the series. Unlike Prince Of Persia, Mass Effect has a giant world to work with.

I'd love to see the movie set during the first contact war.

Mass Effect is a space opera. It could work as a movie, but it would probably lack the exposition needed. That said, I'd like to, at one point be able to yell "I AM KROGAN!" and have people understand what I'm saying.

Mostly because they're shit for damage. The quicker fire rate seems like it'd be off-set, but really, I just never felt it was worth the trade for the higher damage from the Widow and Mantis...

I wouldn't mind either but the official thread goes: "Who would you like to play Commander Shepard?" which kind of made me go. :facepalm

Ah. I see. Yeah the whole multiple headshots to kill an opponent is pretty ridiculous.

    Massive necro-bump.

Arrival, the final piece of DLC for ME 2 is released today. Downloading right now, will post more once I've played it some.

    Edit:

Finished. Took around 2 hours on insanity.

A bit of plot advancement, no choices to be made (almost all decisions are pre-made). Nothing new item-wise except for 1 upgrade.

You go in Batarian space to save an Alliance operative, Amanda Kenson. Solo!(bleh). You get her out and follow her to a secret base in an asteroid, where they've been studying a Reaper artifact. Their plan was to crash the asteroid in the system's Mass Relay, forestalling an imminent Reaper invasion. And surprise, surprise, she and the rest of the staff have been indoctrinated! (fuck you Bioware). Yada yada yada you get captured, escape, start killing everyone at the base and race to prevent Kenson from stopping the collision. Then you insure the collision, get out, have a talk with Hackett. The end.

Only two positive things about Arrival are meeting Hackett and killing 300k+ Batarians in the end.

Imho, failure. Lair of the Shadow Broker was much, much better. I don't understand how they fucked this up, with Bioware having almost a year to design it.

    I am dissapoint.

Yeah, I got to the very end when you're in that area where you add coolant, go up an elevator, and then down another. The elevator to go back down glitched out on me, and the closest autosave I had was at the very start of the DLC.

So I just said fuck that noise and /quit.

Ya, only this time its in reverse.

I hate Batarians, so fuck 'em.

Considering its the last DLC for ME2 you'd think it would be something fantastic to go out on, instead the Arrival pack feels very stiff and is rather disappointing.

The "Battle for Object Rho" was probably the best part of the entire pack, everything else was a room to room search with minor objectives, kinda boring.

    -----------

I decided to start a new playthrough and do Arrival post suicide mission. I have to say that this run was by far the best for me, it's definitely the one I'll import into ME3.

I can say with certainty that I've now perfected MY Commander Shepard, the build is as follows.

    Adept (Biotic Commando)
    Heavy Warp (10)
    Throw (1)
    Wide Singularity (10)
    Pull Field (10)
    Biotic Mastery Nemesis (10)
*Bonus: Wide Energy Drain (10) / Heavy Barrier (10)

    Assault Rifle Training
    M-96 Mattock Assault Rifle
    M-5 Phalanx Heavy Pistol
    M-12 Locust SMG
Arc Projector/M-920 Cain (Arc for YMIRs and Cain for Praetorians)

This character is a fucking monster. Against Geth and shielded enemies he's literally unkillable, like the guy in that video I only play on Insanity so there's never a shortage of shields around. Assault Rifle training is a must, and the Mattock makes you a beast. Comboing with your squad is required, but the results are spectacular. Wide Singularity/Pull Field might seem redundant but certain situations call for certain things. Shockwave is useless on Insanity, so no points.

    Squad:
    Samara - Pull Field (10) , Sapiens Justicar (10), Area Reave (10)
Thane - Unstable Warp (10), Throw Field (10), Drell Marksman (10)

Squad is based around pulls and detonations, Reave is just for armor and collectors. Thane gets Marksman because of the insane bonus he gets to damage. Learning the timing of your combos is a must, on shielded enemies its usually Area Energy Drain > Pull Field (Samara) > Unstable Warp (Thane), usually clears between 3 and 4 enemies in the span of a second.

Commander Jack Shepard (Named Jack since ME1, SuZe fucked that up royally)
Alignment: Paragon (Except for cool Renegade interrupts.)
    ME1 Council Status: Saved
    ME1 Council Appointee: Anderson
    ME1 Rachni: Saved
    ME1 Wrex: Alive
    ME1 Crew Member Sacrificed: Kaiden
    ME1 Romance: Liara
    *ME2 Romance: Liara
    ME2 Heretic Geth: Rewritten
    ME2 Genophage: Data Stored
    ME2 Quarian/Geth War: Dissuaded
    ME2 Kasumi Greybox: Kept
    ME2 Legion: Activated
    ME2 Suicide Mission Casualties: None
ME2 Collector Base: Destroyed (Fuck you Martin Sheen.)

    * Having all of the ME2 romance characters at the lock-in conversation (know which conversation comes prior to the lock-in and have it, but then never talk to them again) after the suicide mission allows you to pick any of them at any time, locking in with one will automatically jump you to the scene in Shepard's cabin. (Basically means you only need one save file to then import all of the romance options into ME3 in separate careers.)

tl;dr - Warp Bombs. Great Wind. Biotic God.

This is so stupid. I downloaded and installed Arrival in the midst of a game, before I reached Horizon. Having heard that Arrival makes best sense played after the rest of the game, I intended to wait until then. But no, lo and behold, as soon as I check my email after Horizon I'm given the mission, completely breaking immersion (it'll be weeks or months in-universe until the end of the main game, and taking the assignment now and waiting so long to actually do it feels... wrong). I can't even delete the DLC and reinstall it when I'm ready to play it, because the save won't be recognized without it now.

Would it have been too hard for the trigger for the scene where Hackett gives you the mission to be embedded into an email you can check? At least that way I could put off reading it until I was ready.

    Screw you too Bioware.

See, I have a completely different policy. I play the game on medium, and my squad is who I think looks the coolest. I also ,for the first time ever, prefer Sheppard to have no magical powers. I dunno, biotics just seems unnecessary in a Sci fi shootem up. :/
