Just started this game a few days ago. Any tips for a Master Yi user?

 

AP master yi is Win. with a big W. just dont rush in at the steart of a team fight, wait till they are all engage and then go fuck em over.

Master Yi prowess come from its supreme attack speed and damage dealing, otherwise hes a squishy.

hes also a very good assassin, in a 3v3 setting. give him speed boot some damage and lizzard buff and you will make your team win.

one of the only 3 toon wich can solo entire teamwith enough mana and lifesteal.

 

AP Yi is what you want, as the above post says. Doran's Ring/health pot-->Merc trends/soc boots and typically Sheen/Lich Bane Zhonya's, Void Staff is the core. Add in more AP items as you see fit. Going for either Tear of the Goddess/Archangel or Catalyst/RoA might work, but I prefer to get to Lich Bane with him as soon as I can. Go r>q>w>e. Running any combination of flash, ghost, cleanse, and exhaust works.

Farm up with his q. Use w to heal during the laning phrase/after a 1v1 confrontation or a teamfight. His e is to give him a little extra boost in AS and to proc Lich Bane. Turn his ult on in teamfights. Don't get cocky with him. He's very squishy, more so running AP.

 

AP yi is funner, Ad yi is still stronger.

Cull's AP Yi works fine. I only play AP yi in low elo so I usually go:
Doran Ring/ HP Pot ,Sheen, Soul Stealer, haunting guise, sorc boots, zhonyas. I avoid void staff unless i think they'll go above 150 magic resist (and only if they're an actual annoyance).

The thing with Yi is this. People LOVE to focus you. I've been in games where I was the sole recipient of 3+ ultimates. He's definitely a hero where good positioning and patience(timing) pays off.

AD Yi is pretty damn strong. If you have good map awareness+wards, you'll be able to countergank+down towers quite well. Neutral buffs are amazing on yi. You should definitely be a high priority carrier on your team. Yi punishes more disorganized teams with poor map awareness. Its quite possible to down 2 towers in an unattended lane with yi. I tend to run teleport alot on him.

I tend to also like the cheaper item builds in general. Ghostblade, Sword of divine, infinity edge is a dream build. games are typically over before the ie though. Some people like lantern or bloodthirster but lifesteal kinda bores me.

 

Massive patch time folks. What do you all think? I'll have to give it a couple games but I'm not liking the mushroom storm Teemo they're trying to pretend is a buff.

 

I want my Alistar buffed, so I can kick those retards who underestimate him even better than now.


Nah, I think the patch was good, except for Teemo, who got totally ruined for me.

And Lux seems pretty balanced from the go, so no OMG OP new hero. Refreshing.


And, as my mains are Morgana, Alistar and Kassadin, I'm really happy Morgana got nerfed. About time. Hopefully people will now stop screaming OP everytime I own them silly with her

 

Malady remake is funny.

 

I have tried Teemo, and in my opinion this was more of a buff than a nerf. Yeah, his Q was nerfed, but its cooldown is smaller - with the blue aura, as AP teemo, I can spam it more frequently, taking big chunks of life.

His R is much better - I can now put 2 or 3 mushrooms behind me as enemies are chasing me, and manage to kill one with 10 hp left. Not counting the slight buff of his R damage at rank 3 (700 damage instead of 650).

Granted, I've never really played Teemo in high elo games, he's pretty much useless there, but I can't say I didn't enjoy this one game with the new changes.

Lux on the other hand is pretty balanced and offers interesting additions in teamplay. Stuns, slows, ultra long range ultimate, and shielding the team? Her possibilities are very promising.

It's not a bad one - even though very few champion will really benefit from it, maybe an hybrid Jax or Kog'maw.

 

He can no longer recall in stealth. And his ultimate is absolutely worthless before third level and massive cooldown reduction(absolutely horrible lenght to generate new shrooms, and less damage before level 3, when you get whopping 50dmg boost). Poison DoT got nerfed, for 1 more damage when first hitting. Now AD Teemo is less than useless, and AP Teemo is good only for mining the field at level 16 and onwards...

Teemo was already pretty useless in teamfights, now he is pushed even more towards warding the playing field.

Its just funny that they even tried remaking it. The actual item is basically a less farm Nashor Tooth. Decent, but not a OMG FIRST ITEM MUST GET.

 

I have discovered a love for using Jax to gang-rape people and their turrets. Killing 3 champs + a turret within 5 minutes of each other is very nice. Sadly, I used my IP on Warwick before I really played him, and now really regret it.

 

The remade Malady is actually pretty nice on Kayle, which is nice since they haven't touched her at all recently. Now, if they could just make Nunu's Ult usable without a lot of prep then I would be pleased, since Nunu is my alt for when Kayle isn't available.

 

Alright folks. If any newcomers are thinking about playing this game, they should really consider purchasing some of the bundles. Go to ebay, and purchase the 'retail' bundle for 10 bucks (if you purchase straight from riot online its 30 bucks).

Corki has such insane dmg output. Between his q, e, r, and his autoattack, he's so strong. Plus his w, with is like an escape mechanism+short range flash. I go 2 Dorans Blades, Boots, Manamune, Zerker Boots, Trinity Force. Has anyone played him, and do something different?

 

Your build is the way to go for most cases. Theres a difference between playing with pubs and a premade that really works well together. If you're premaking with teammates who're really on top of their shit, try rushing ie+last whisper. You will have much less mana and survivability, but this classic build is faster and cheaper to obtain. After the IE, just start double potting with a priority on the green buff. The synergy between green elixir and ie is just amazing.

Also, doran items are getting a slight rework next patch. Less hp, less lifesteal, and tiny bit more damage.

 

I can't believe no one has mentioned Tryndamere in this thread. He freaking roflstomps any other champ. Btw anyone else got the feeling that Irelia is completely useless for an 6.3K champ? I prefer Yi or Trynd over Irelia any day and they're both below 1.5K IP.

Tryndamere: 40 minutes of farm to do any dmg unless he gets fed so many kills early game. And if you feed a trynd in the first 10 levels, stop playing. :awesome

Irelia is not OP or UP. She is alright. Its just that Yi and Trynd stomp so much more, because if they get 5 or so kills, they snowball hard.

 

tryn is a freaking god. I also enjoy plague rat. but thats another mater. hes more useful than evelyn for sure. since hes a range stealth hero. his damage output is great and his on hit poison is more potent than Teemo. Sadly hes slow as hell on his two feet

 

Boots of Mobility'll fix that. And fuck the plague rat. He can hit from outside of Tower range again :facepalm
