    Title: Falling out the Veil
    Author: Minato Namikaze
    Rating: M
    Genre: Action/Adventure
    DLP Category: The Alternates
    Pairings: HP/Amara/OFC
    Status: In Progress
Summary: "Victory isn't all its cooked up to be. Some victories come at a price. In a moment of anger, Harry gains a victory, and loses his life. But Harry has earned the right to live. Problem is, Death doesn't give two flying ones, where or when he lives." HP/Fallout crossover
    Link:FF.net

This came up as a result of a post in the for review thread for "Vault 419" in which HP/Fallout crossovers were suggested. On a whim, I browsed FF.net's crossovers and found this one. There were actually two HP/Fallout crossovers but the other one had all the earmarks of fail (like being the third in a series of dimension-hopping Harry and friends fics. Their other destinations include the worlds of command and conquer and Star Trek) and I avoided it like the plague.

At the moment, it's a bit early to have posted this, with only three chapters and 9k words but it seems to be updating so no worries.

It's fairly original simply by existing, and I found the writing style compelling in a crackfic kind of way. Spelling and grammar were both fine. The fight scenes were well written and the sex wasn't half bad. If this was just a HP fic, it could easily make the recycle bin, but the crossover makes it more worthwhile. 4/5 out of me with potential for improvement.

    Seriously? With scenes like:

The bracelet itself wasn't that hard to make, at least the sterling silver base wasn't. He did spend several hours using his magic to shape the metal and carve decorations into it. Mermaids danced all about the jewelry in a watery background. The amount of detail Harry put into it was incredible; seaweed floated about, the fins and scales of the mermaids stood out in amazing contrast, the mermaids hair drifted gently in the underwater current, and Harry's favorite; the mermaids breasts. Some were very large, others smaller than the rest, but all were nicely centered and showed no sagging.

When Amata first saw it she gasped, squealed, huggedand jumped around; then later while looking at it in more detail, snorted and giggled at him, "Henry! You're such a pervert. You gave them nipples? Ahh, what am I going to do with you?"

Harry laughed and pinched her side, sending her into peels of laughter. "Aww, you know you love me!" That was the day Amata finally joined Harry and Christine, turning their love duo into a love trio.

Brought to you by the author who has one Naruto fic with the summary of "Motivated by the vision of an unwanted future, Naruto decides to defy fate and make his own path ... Naruto usues Naruko as practice", another story titled "More Then A Wizard", and a quote of himself on his profile along with a wall of other crap.

And no, spelling and grammar are both not fine when I find multiple fuckups of both in the first paragraph!

Easily on account of it being complete trash?

It's full of grammar and spelling errors (in names), the fight scenes are disconcerting, and the sex scenes read like they were written by a 15 year old boy. The passage ashura quoted above exemplifies the author's obsession with breasts.

This fic is strange in that it's kind of literate when it isn't riddled with errors, yet is completely unreadable.

    1/5. Naruto writers.

At least he's recommending something. For Review has been... Lacking.

Not going to read this though, considering the above reviews.

I would love to see a good HP/Fallout story. /: So seeing the 1/5s was disappointing.

Fallout and magic are two things that should not ever, ever be mixed.

Though it honestly wouldn't surprise me if Bethesda tried doing just that at some point. I mean, if they honestly thought Mothership Zeta was a good idea...

I found the story a little interesting but i dont think it was anything to do with the writing, ive never played fallout and i think thats where my interest was coming from.

The whole "harry gets 2 beautiful women who dont mind sharing him with each other and others" kinda really dragged down the crossover. It sounds a little wierd but it took away any shred of plausibility.

Plus i dont think this will be finished (like the majority of fics)

2/5 (am i allowed to rate yet? ive been here for eons)

I read the story too, it's mediocre at best, in all honesty. I'd rate this a 2 right now. Don't remember if I added it to my alerts or not though (but I didn't add it to my fave's at least). Story has a decent idea, but it's poorly executed. And I agree with Revan, HP magic and Fallout 3 shouldn't be mixed. As far as I remember (I didn't play Fallout3 all that much), there wasn't any magic in that game.

Adding HP magic to Fallout3 is really just a poor idea, although I don't mind the HP/Fallout3 crossover so much, but adding HP music to the story is just a ridiculous thing. Oh well.

I've got this feeling that it was written by a 15 year old boy. A 15 year old boy who's just finished playing Fallout 3.
Some of the dialogue lines feel as if they were taken directly, and in an unchanged form, from the game itself.

    HP/Fallout xover is a bad idea. 1/5

Hrmm, while the story is not exactly wonderful, the name is not a typo. When he was, erm born again, his parents named him Henry. Harry was just a nickname.

    Still a 1/5 though.
