As I mention in http://forums.darklordpotter.net/showthread.php?t=17829 I'd really like to see a dumbledore centric fic, or at least a fic with really good scenes from his perspective.

Thinking back on it, I'm really surprised by how little there is. Sure, stories might give a few paragraphs to his perspective, but Dumbledore deserves a little more exploration than that.

I have not read them yet, so I don't know if they are good or not. I'd prefer to read fics where he is an adult. He doesn't have to be super old like in canon, I'd be happy to read fics about him and Grindelwald.

In Light of Silver Memories is a pseudo Harry-Dumbledore story though it is unfinished.

I had a plan to write a Dumbledore and Grindelwald story chronicling their friendship, the breakup and the eventual duel. I mostly wanted to write the duel that has been mentioned in canon as the greatest duel ever.

I don't know whether it'll ever see the light of the day, but I did have some nice plans about their duel and Grindelwald's eventual defeat despite him possessing the Elder Wand.

 

I read the first one some time ago, "Albus Dumbledore and the Phoenix Feather" is quite good. Granted, it's not adult Dumbles, but it's an interestinmg take on his developing character.

Here is an AU with Dumbledore in his teaching days, starting shortly before the Grindelwald war and featuring Tom Riddle after a pedagogic intervention.

Not complete and with some editing/ formating problems, but a good read none the less. 4/5

 

Man, I gave that story a shot a long time ago but it was just too boring...

I guess I can give it another, but it just felt like the sort of story that would never end because nothing "big" would ever happen. It seemed like it would just go on forever without ever getting a climax and conclusion.

Does it get better? Because that's one of my biggest peeves with fanfics.

But like I said, that was a long time ago and I didn't get all that far.

Bumping does serve a purpose, but I'm not clear on whether or not it is against the rules in this case.
