Awesome trailer indeed, but I'm skeptical that the actual game can live up to it.

Judging by the speed at which the kid contracted the infection, I'd have to think that the mother is most likely the only one with any importance in the game, being the only one not to get bitten in the trailer.

According to IGN the family in the trailer are only part of a minor side-quest, the protagonist has nothing to do with them.

That trailer was genuinely heart-wrenching. Do want.

    I stand corrected.

Reading a bit more on wikipedia, it appears that there are four playable characters.

Also, the zombies have complex mapping complete with skin and muscle layers, which should provide quite well for the gore factor.

    I second this.

Watching that trailer made me want to cry.

    I hope this game delivers.

This looks absolutely amazing. Can't wait for it to come out :]

    Edit::
Music really added to the trailers emotion.

Hilariously, this trailer is being used by a theatre group I know as part inspiration for a piece they're working on...

OT: This trailer kicks some ass. I won't play the game, as I don't have anything more sophisticated than an n64, but it's definitely the best game trailer I've ever seen. Also, animation is ridiculous.

Same as Jon. I'm thinking about buying it, who has played it and what do you think?

If you want to try before you buy,

PM me and I'll give you a link to a 'demo' of the 'game'.

Which can be 'redeemed' into a full game if you like it and want to buy it.

Subtly like a china shop in a bullring. Thanks for the offer but unfortunately my PC would not be able to play it, I was thinking of buying it for xbox.

Edit: Bought it earlier. It is awesome. Really really good. Buy it and add me on XBL.

I bought the game friday last week, and I'm just reaching endgame now. It's a freaking long game, but then again, I did all of the sidequests. Even so, it's easily between 20-30 hours of pure gameplay, and there's plenty of replay value.

The combat feels incredibly rewarding when you do it right. It takes some time to time your swings correctly, but once you do it's awesome! The game emphasizes melee weapons rather than guns, which works rather well. The guns are pretty meh, probably mostly because bullets are so rare.

The story is nearly non-existent, but the gameplay keeps you going. It's a lot like Borderlands, only with zombies.

The graphics are pretty nice as well.

The sound is probably one of the best things about the game. The zombie voices are expertly done, the same for the ambient sounds as well.

Bad things about the game would probably be the various bugs that keeps screwing you over, like losing your epic machete from your inventory, and the game being a bitch with your checkpoints. Note that the game also have one of the worst escort missions I've ever tried, although that mostly stems from the aforementioned checkpoint bitchiness. It's also feels a bit cheep some times, when zombies spawn out of nowhere and attack you from behind. It definitely keeps you on your toes.

Overall, it's a very good game, especially for multiplayer, that falls short of being perfect because of stupid mistakes (and a noteworthy lacking plot). I recommend it.

EDIT: Chopping off zombie limbs with you epic machete is as fun as it sounds!

If anyone is thinking of getting this, I recommend you do. Game is pretty good, especially when you can whack zombies in the head with a huge hammer.

Now, the game is clearly a console port. FOV is low, to say the least, but luckily, you can change it.

A group of modders are trying to improve the game as much as possible, so if you want better graphics, higher FOV, and a whole lot of other game improvements, I suggest you visit this page.

After watching that trailer, I'm now really confused what game I should buy next. If only they came cheaper.
