I didn't see anything else about this so I thought I'd go ahead and post this. So if you like the show Two and A Half Men and were still holding out some hope of it continuing, its time to let go of those last few threads of hope. Ashton Kutcher has officially been confirmed as Charlie Sheen's replacement on Two and A Half Men.

    Ashton Kutcher replacing Charlie Sheen

Unlike some people I don't despise Ashton Kutcher but I don't think he has a prayer of holding the show up, the sole reason its gone on as long as it has is Sheen. The other characters are funny but there to support him and nothing more. Unless Kutcher steps it up from his normal performance by miles there's no chance he can replace Sheen successfully. I'm giving it a month at best after he starts before the whole thing is cancelled.

    Thoughts?

They are replacing Charlie Sheen with Kelso?

    What a burn!

I actually sort of like Ashton Kutcher. He seems like a cool dude in real life. This development doesn't make me worry about the future of Two and a Half Men (as my disdain for the show knows no earthly bounds) but it does kind of make me feel bad for Mr. Kutcher. Second choice after Sheen? Ouch.

And personally, I don't really think Sheen was the load bearing beam on that show; the only one I ever thought funny was the kid. :p

I used to really enjoy watching this. It's a real shame that Sheen became bi-winning, as I found the show hilarious back in the day. Even moreso because I watched Platoon two nights ago and he was pretty alright in that, so the acting talent is clearly there (although the support characters, writing and directing are what makes it such an epic film).

Oh well, the whole world got a good laugh or five out of his demise.

    Kutcher doesn't stand a chance.

I'm willing to give Kutcher a chance, for curiosities sake at least.

...Charlie Sheen played the older brother. How is this going to work?

I think the casting people just said,"Hey, we need another mildly-annoying douche. And quickly."

Maybe he'll be like a visiting cousin or something, hehe.

Maybe they'll literally kill off Sheen's character, and Kutcher is, as suggested, the cousin who swoops in to help out - but in the end he ends up being even more of a slacker than Sheen was!

    DRAMA!

I think they'll kill Charlie off, and his house will have been left to Aston's character. Remember Charlie kept telling Alan there was no way in hell he was going to get the house so stop trying to be a suck up.

I give it a season, maybe two more if he does really well. I see them giving Jon Cryer extended screen time, which will kill the show for me, because I already can't stand the guy as much as he's there in the first place. (His character has had literally zero growth from episode one, and he's gotten even more annoying and unbelievably cheap. 4K a month in alimony and child support, the alimony went away, but he still says he can't afford a 20$ expense?)

Really? Was that in the later seasons? All I remember about that was this one episode where Charlie thought he was having a heart attack and when they were in the hospital he admitted to Alan that while he'd left the house to him and Jake there was absolutely no money and the taxes were more than Alan could ever pay.

His character kind of varies for me, he has this kind of dry sense of humor that's actually pretty funny when he does it right but when he gets into his usual whiny bitch mode he's unbelievably irritating.

Bad move - shit like this never works out in television.

This is just going to be a waste of time, money and effort.

Show's dead without Sheen - let it die.

Ha! Ashton Kutcher? Look at this:

It could've been worse, much worse. Picture Grant strutting around the set with his usual politely-confused-Brit expression, and somehow Sandra Bullock finding her way into the show. It's vomit-inducing.

I would have actually given it a try with Grant as the new lead.

    Kutcher? No, thanks.

I hope you're not implying that you have a problem with Sandra Bullock, sir.

Honestly, I see nothing wrong with this, if only because it would be physically impossible for this show to get any worse. The earlier seasons were good but during the past few years every character has become a caricature of themselves and any character development that happened in the early seasons has been reversed.

Short of replacing it with violent gay porn during the timeslot, there's not much that could make this worse, so Ashton Kutcher isn't that bad.

I remember those spots too. It varies. Charlie tells him most of the time he ain't getting the house, and other times he's beening mean and telling him he's getting the house, "but the tax nut on this place is 50 grand a year"

Sandra Bullock < Nicolas Cage (And that's saying something...)

    Come at me, bro.

But don't be mad. Have some Nicolas bashing: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eExfV_xKaiM

I can see Kutcher fitting into this role well.
