Okay, this came out in Australia recently, and two of my closer friends wants to watch it. Keep in mind that while one friend is female, the other is a male.

Normally, I don't watch chick flicks as a principle. While the rare Mean Girls was funny as shit and the Devil Wears Prada had some good lines, most of what I was forced to watch (eg Ugly Truth, Life as We Know It) were horrid. The acting is piss poor, and the lines just aren't funny.

However, this apparently is a Judd Apatow and was written by Kristen Wiig, whom I respect. Still, it shows the makings of a standard chick flick: a cast of predominantly girls, a female lead protagonist who is single.

What I want to know is if anyone has watched this already. Is it worth the $10 for a ticket?

Never bow to others' wishes when it comes to movies.

Whenever this happens, I treat this as an opportunity to level up my Persuasiveness attribute. Talk them into seeing movie x or movie z. Show them trailers, mention the actors, cite reviews and other friends, and you're golden.

The number of people who watch chick flicks reluctantly is way too high.
