    Day 6 has concluded.

The Dementor finished removing Aekiel's soul and released him. The body hit the floor with a quiet thud, the villagers mortified as another perished to the Dementor's Kiss.

"I want to thank you," whispered a feminine voice.

It was Ashaya. She had turned to Rehio and was appraising him with the barest of smiles.

    "W-what?" he asked.

She clicked each of her fingers on her right hand and then reached into her robes. She withdrew her wand and leveled it at the wizard.

    "For saving me," she mocked.

He began backing up, his eyes widening, the truth coming too late. He turned to run.

"What shall his reward be, my Master?" she inquired, turning to look behind her.

"The same thing everyone else is getting," a man said, walking past her.

With that, the Dark Lord Anarchy started off the festivities, firing a Killing Curse at the retreating figure of Rehio. His cackles of glee soon rang out as green spell-fire and the screams of wizards and witches filled the village square. The Dementors were drawn into his fold and the last of Hogmeade's denizens were slaughtered to the man.

The forces of evil had prevailed.

We reached consensus. The Dementor's Kiss was administered to Aekiel. He was a Healer.

This drops the total number of villagers down to 5 out of 9. Without a healer, the Death Eaters will successfully kill someone during Night 6, bringing the total down to 4 of 8 (5 votes required for a majority).

    Therefore....

    We have reached a conclusion:

    The Death Eaters have won.

Posting is permitted in this thread by everyone as the game is over.

    Ashaya was a Death Eater
Dark Minion was a Death Eater
    DarkDeoxys (Castiel) was a Wizard
    Havoc was an Order Member
    Kang was a Wizard
    Lion was an Idiot
Lord Anarchy was the Dark Lord
    Lutris was a Wizard
    Rehio was a Wizard
    Riley Poole was a Wizard
    Scrittore was a Wizard
Space Ghost then Aekiel were the Healers
    Tenages was a Sorcerer
The Berkeley Hunt was an Order Member
    Vira was a Witch
    Xiph0 was a Wizard

    Some observations:
Lion will not be permitted to participate in any future games. He did not participate except when prodded to do so and incorrectly identified the people he investigated. He at no point investigated Ashaya and he really truly is a tool from everything I have witnessed of him in IRC and on the forum.

5 (of the 6) villagers voted for Ashaya today. Anarchy actually PMed me saying he was concerned his plan hadn't gone as drawn up (basically what Aekiel said: Healer didn't die therefore not healer). I told him that Rehio would take care of that shortly. As if on cue, Rehio once again, for no reason, defended Ashaya and derailed yet another attempt to lynch her.

The villagers have consistently voted for Ashaya each day, yet for some reason people want to defend her (even before Lion). If Rehio had been smart about the game, he would have voted for her rather than White Knighted for her from Day 1. Even if she had been innocent, it would have been out of the way days ago. By constantly allowing Ashaya to escape a lynch, the village was unable to move past her (basically every day started off with Ashaya and then some one White Knighted trying to save her). You don't owe your allegiance to anyone in this game (unless you're aware that person is a villager, i.e. Order Member). Furthermore:

You have to lynch people in this game.

It is the only way you can kill Death Eaters. Each day you fail to kill someone is another day the Death Eaters pick one up on you. It did not matter if you killed Ashaya yesterday or any day before that. Failing to lynch as many days as you guys did is terrible. You want to vote for the person you think is a Death Eater and won't budge? You are going to lose. You will not get what you want all the time. Therefore the people who rescinded their vote and didn't vote (Rehio again) for the bandwagon were basically useless. Day 1? Kill someone. Does not matter. Kill them. You will immediately have clues as to who is defending who and you can go from there.

Furthermore. your usual first clue that someone is a Death Eater is someone consistently defending another person without explanation. Lord Anarchy, even before Lion fucked the game up for the villagers, was attempting to deflect away from Ashaya (all the Death Eaters were on day one, for no reason). It flew under the radar because there were multiple people White Knighting for her who had no business doing so. If you are not a Death Eater and you don't know who is who, do not defend people. Defend your own position.

With that said, the thread is open to discussion.

Feedback is appreciated. Thank you all for playing (except Lion. Giant fuck you and die) :).

    For fuck's sake, Ashaya!

Alright, yeah, I was wrong. I wouldn't change what I had done, though. With the information I had.. Oh whatever.

    Play better next time.

    Villagers were totally owned. D:

Even though I died fairly early on, it was really fun and I'm interested in playing again. Hopefully the next game will start soon.

Banning Lion is complete bullshit. He didn't break any rules.

So what, he played in a style that was douchey towards the other villagers, especially after he was accused and it looked like he was going to die? That doesn't mean someone should be banned from playing.

Call him a corrupt Auror. Call him a bitter Auror who just wants to fuck the world. Say he's Fudge's lackey and is dangerously incompetent. There are plenty of explanations.

I just think that de-allowing all play styles that don't benefit the villagers limits the game's potential unnecessarily. People trying to save their own skin, betrayals, etc. - that's where all the fun is. Without all of that you might as well get rid of human players and watch bots play.

I disagree with Merrill's analysis of the Ashaya affair too. It's complete coincidence that you guys were right about her being a Death Eater all along. Given that she was selected completely on a whim - no suspicious behaviour, or anything like that - statistically speaking, it's more likely that you'd randomly lynch a villager than a Death Eater.

The mistake wasn't not killing Ashaya. That only makes sense with hindsight that she was a Death Eater. The mistake was going back after her every single turn and getting hung up on it for ages.

None of the other Death Eaters were ever even accused. That's how fixated everyone was on Ashaya.

I also disagree with Merrill's proposal that you have to lynch people to win. As said before, statistically speaking, selecting someone at random for a lynching is more likely to kill a villager than a Death Eater, at least at the start. Which means you're gifting the Death Eaters an extra kill, speeding up their win.

The game should really be moved forward by people with roles, not random selection. Random selection is going to favour the Death Eaters, as they're in the minority. By the time the odds even it's too late. It's only with information from people with roles that you can defeat the Death Eaters by anything other than luck.

Ashaya, if you were a deatheater, why would you have voted for Dark Lord Anarchy?

CrackedMind: I found it fairly obvious that Ashaya was making sure that no blame got placed on Anarchy. If she was revealed to be a Death Eater then no one would go after the people she tried to get killed.

As the game host, I can decide who or who doesn't play. It isn't just that Lion sabotaged the villagers. It's that he failed to play without me basically begging him to. I am not going to beg someone to play a game I am spending time volunteering to host. In addition to being a piece of shit in that manner, he had the nerve to ruin it for everyone else when he realized he had to make a half-hearted attempt to save himself.

He was a shitty player (like Vash would've been if I had allowed him to say) and had no business playing in the first place. He exacerbated that by being a douchebag and forgetting who he investigated. He tried to tell me he had investigated Ashaya in PMs after I pointed out how he had sabotaged the game. He said he was certain. That's poor effort. He'll try to say he's trolling now but in truth, he really just is an idiot mentally.

    So stop defending an idiot.

Furthermore, I am telling you the same thing I said in IRC. I am not discussing how this game is played with someone who does not know how to play it. Go read a mafiascum thread and play a game of mafia on SC2. They lynch most of the time first day; they sure as hell start lynching second day.

12 v 4. You can mislynch numerous times. If a role comes under fire, they have to get out of it. The strongest pairing is a known investigator with an unknown healer. Again. Stupid investigator.

And again, not discussing it with an idiot.

Ahaha, that was a really fun game to watch. I agree with everything Taure said, though; as an observer, it didn't seem like there was any actual evidence that Ashaya was a DE from the start. What doomed this play at the critical stage was Lion - which was quite a feat in itself.

I've played mafia quite a bit, though I've never played online; I'd love to see the role of the Fool introduced sometime - perhaps call it Squib - if that person is lynched, they win the game. I find it makes games hilariously paranoid, heh.

For a variety of reasons. Perhaps she was trying to deflect attention away from Lord Anarchy. Maybe she wanted to squash suggestions that she was a Death Eater by publicly supporting the decision of somebody who seemed to be an Order member. Only Ashaya and the Death Eaters would be able to give you the proper answer, but it seems to be along those lines, imo.

Also, do you know when the next game will be held? This seems very interesting. =O

    EDIT: Ninja'ed by Vira. =P

EDIT2: Continuing from Palindrome's post, I'd also like to suggest the addition of a Vigilante. The game I played involved the Beloved Princess and the Vigilante simultaneously. It was an interesting game. =O

Clearly, Merrill is the kind of kid who takes his ball home when the game doesn't go like he wants it to.

Your appeal to faux-authority also falls flat.

There's absolutely no gain to be had in lynching someone first round. You can't gain information, because no one actually knows anything. You've just got people making decisions on bullshit like "they made the first post". In most cases you'll lynch a good guy, gifting the Death Eaters another kill. If you get very lucky and lynch a Death Eater, that doesn't tell you anything either. You can't make the inference that people who defended the Death Eater are suspicious, because in the first stage it's entirely sensible to defend someone, because all reasons given for that person's lynching will be bullshit (see: no actual information).

Sure, with certain meta-game conventions in place (e.g. never defend anyone else unless you know for sure that they're not a DE, no matter what bullshit reason people are giving to vote for that person) a first round lynching might be useful - though if the Death Eaters are also aware of the meta-game conventions, they're not going to make themselves suspicious by defending someone. Which brings you back to a first round lynching giving you no info. And anyway, we don't have any such conventions.

Even when not playing, this was really entertaining to follow. Death Eaters played the game well and combined with some luck and hesitating on the part of the villagers won extremely easy.

I had little idea who the Death Eaters were as an outsider but that's partly because you haven't seen any of the players play before. You don't know whether someone is just fucking around or really trying to win the game. Now that you can see how everyone played with his/her role in mind, you have a lot more to base your opinion on a following time.

Lol, you guys were so close to getting Ashaya, yet so far. Still, I never said she was innocent, I just said others were more suspicious. I took many notes, and spent a lot of hours formulating plans with the others on IRC.

Here's the basic reasoning behind our kills. These are the 5 second versions and not the long transcripts that led up to our kills.

Scritorre: Voted with us, so by killing him, it would point the blame onto Berkeley, and was probably the best option to save Ashaya from being voted off the next day. Ashaya and I probably spent 2 hours talking about who to kill. I was quite convinced from Berkeleys very first post where he staunchly defended Havoc that they were both Order Member's, So I tried to pass it off as them being death Eaters. Turns out I was correct.

Xiph0: Was being quite vocal against Ashaya (for no apparent reason), was afraid that more people would flock to him in some sort of Mod worship or something. So we killed him, hoping that it would look like someone was trying to frame Ashaya. Worked like a charm. It was a tossup between him and 3 or 4 others though.

Lutris: We picked him at pretty much random to kill, as killing him would not really but heat on anyone. Somehow Aekiel predicted that and healed him. We were quite shocked, and the only reasoning I can think is because Lutris was the first person on the vote picture who didn't vote.

Berkeley Hunt: we planned on killing him earlier, but it was fun having competition. But, as an Order Member, he had to go. He was too vocal.

Castiel. We planned on killing Aekiel because he was the healer, but then Tenages reminded me that we could roleblock him and prevent him from healing, and possibly make it look like he was lying about being the healer. Apparently it worked (not sure how). So we settled for Castiel. He voted Ashaya every time, yet killing him would seem like a random act.

Other notes: I'm not sure what the hell Lion was doing, but thank you. Also, Rehio, thanks lol. There was a lot of planning in every move we made, and the excel sheets below are just a vote tally and brief notes. I would post some of the conversations and kill debates we had in IRC, but that would take up too much space. Also, I sent Tenages to do the killing every time. I think Merrill is planning on villager than can role block in the next game, and it would be possible to role block the killer. For this game, it didn't matter so much. And I would like to point out that I would probably make long TL:DR's regardless of my role.
