Fuck me... that looks incredible.

I played 1 a bit, mostly just for Desert Combat, and haven't played it since as I heard 2 was really fail.

That on the other hand... looks beautiful, and seems like it plays really well too. I love how when you shoot stuff, it actually breaks, like the corrugated iron on the bridge etc. Also looks like it may have a proper storyline.

Question in the end comes down to this, how good will it be compared to Modern Warfare 1&2.

 

Modern Warfare 1 was good, 2.... terrible, at least from my perspective being a PC gamer

Apparently the Frostbite2 physics is insane, like the scene where the rocket is fired into the building, if the rocket had hit somewhere else the building falling apart would have been completely different.

 

Eh, I'm talking about from a single player experience really. Multi is cool, but if I don't like the single player, I doubt i'll play multi.

And I LOVED the story in MW2.

 

No flying?

 

Flying is present. Haven't seen anything about it yet in a video, but it has been confirmed.

I like the look of the trailer. Loved 1942+expansions, 2142 and BC2, so I'll probably love this. Hopefully this won't end up as a CoD clone. Battlefield has managed thus far to avoid that fate. Hope to see it continue.

Looking forward to seeing a(some) multi-player trailer(s).

 

Hopefully. I preffer battlefield over CoD. Since in all Battlefield you can use vehicule and chopper. And it has always been awesome.

Game looks freaking sweet. Who else preordered?

 

Meh, I have BC2 (and 1942 :3) and have never done more than dick about on the first level of it's singleplayer.

These games are all about the multiplayer, and BC2 remains the best fps online multiplayer I have ever played. It is absolutely unbelievably good and I will still occasionally deliberately set aside a few hours to play it, which I pretty much don't do for any other game.

MW2 and indeed most of the CoD games are ok if there happens to be a console in the room that my mates and I are drinking in, but online I don't feel they've ever really matched up.

Battlefield 3 trailers and promos are a little over-produced for my taste, but I'll inevitably give it a go at some point. If it manages to be even half as good as BC2 in any of the ways that count, it'll be a cracker.

BF has always been about the MP play. Its just an added bonus that they made a pretty good Single Player for BC. Lets hope its the same level or better for BF3.

Getting solid 35-40 FPS with a single GTS 450, with everything medium-high-ish. Shadows and AA slightly lower than that.

Game is pretty damn good.

 

God, I am so bad at this game.

It's really fun, but I haven't played an FPS like this in years.

Anyone have any general advice?

 

Pick a class you like. I recommend the Assault/medic, and try to stick with your teammates.
