Wow I just found this gem while I was browsing this morning, and I gotta say I am really enjoying this. The writing is excellent, at least thus far, with excellent grammar and a decent feel. Something that stood out right off the bat was that the Orphanage was run by the kind of person you would expect: as in a decent human being... refreshing. Also Naruto is paired with Tenten perhaps the only female character in Naruto's age generation who is neither possessed of a repulsive personality nor a disgrace to ninja and females in general. I really think it says something when one of the more popular heterosexual pairings involves Haku, who is male. However I do have one small gripe and that is that I think the Kyuubi is a touch on the Benevolent side. Now as everything else is so good I can tolorate this but I would prefer him to be a proper Demon. Maybe something more along the lines of the Millennium Earl from D-Gray would be nice. Still all in all defiantly worth the read and defiantly Library material.

I rate this one a 4/5. mostly because while the writing is decent, the characterizations could be somewhat better.

Edit: You may want to note that naruto's bloodline is... very strange. I mean incredibly strange. As in the oddest Bloodline to have ever graced the Naruto Fandom outside of crack-fanfics.

    Whoops. Try again.

But in all serious I'm sure I'll get around to reading it.

I was comparing her to the other Kunoichi from Konoha. I mean Sakura really sucks before the time-skip, and she's annoying. Ino ties with Sakura, Hinata's is way too insecure. Seriously, I don't think Tenten is the best because of anything overly epic she's done, rather because she's the only one who's actually even worth mentioning.

Also, how the hell do you spell that? Kunoichi that is.

Pet peeve. Defiantly is not the same word as definitely. And whenever someone does that baby jesus cries. So, please, stop.

    OT: will read and review.

Edit: Read the first two chapters. Have to say that is the weirdest bloodline idea ever. I mean, really, really? I have to wonder what is going through the author's head. And the bloodline isn't even the oddest thing in this story. So far this is very strange, I am intrigued. I will rate after I have read more.

    It's certainly 'different.'

    You're spelling it correctly...

Anyway, I'll look into it too, with Nuhuh's accolade of 'very strange, I am intrigued.'

Have to agree, this is one of the odder stories I've come across-even disregarding the utterly strange bloodline idea. Still, it's fairly interesting. I'll rate it after a few more chapters.

    ---------- Post automerged at 21:18 ---------- Previous post was at 19:30 ----------

It actually gets less unusual as it continues, though that may just be myself growing accustomed to it. I like the story so far, I'm interested to see where it will end up. Hopefully the author doesn't abandon it anytime soon. 4/5

(Sorry for the double post by the way, couldn't find a way to rate it officially otherwise)

Ok. I don't know what I was expecting this secret bloodline to be, but I know I wasn't expecting that. LOL, so strange. It's not half bad though... I can see various ways in which it could have some real potential, but it's far from being OP or anything off the bat. I only have one issue with it really:
From what I read he can generate 'candy' from his body because when he eats an excess of something (salt, sugar, whatever) it gets stored and he can recall and use it however he likes -- that was the Uzumaki bit. In the first chapter this was sugar/candy. But I had the impression he was no longer able to get much candy because the nice candy store people left and the new guy was a dick. So does it not get 'used up' then? Later on it's moot, as he is seen eating candy more often, but even so. Edit: Ok, later chapter implies that the Namikaze had some kind of sugar-affinity, so maybe not, whatever. I just kept expecting him to "run low" at some point before now.

Also the thing with the Hyuuga was just... weird. Baby batter? Really? Unless that whole storyline is really well done it would have been better left out I think.

Then there are things that make me grin. For instance, when Naruto is in class, "the teacher droned on and on about some battle at some rock..." which sounds exactly how I'd predict Naruto's thought processes to work.

Bits with Shino were pretty good. I'm not sure if it's canon or not, but the thought that most Aburame can mostly only use clan-related Jutsu because their bugs are always eating up their chakra is a neat concept.

...This Tenten is weird, and dare I say it a bit OOC. Not that we see tons of Tenten in canon, but wtf? I understand her excitement over a fabled weapon, but still. Speaking of fabled weapons -- Naruto is fast approaching the limit of things/bloodlines/abilities/whatever he can magically inherit from his parents. Getting a bit overboard.

Done reading for now (Chapter 5), need a break. 3.5/5. Dunno if it's library worthy or recycling bin worthy, but it doesn't suck.

Yeah, the thing is the Hyuuga is what I was referencing as stranger than the bloodlines. It looks like it may play out to be fairly interesting though. Tenten is actually the low point of the story so far. Her characterization annoys me, and despite myself I find that I'm cheering for Naruto to get with Hinata over her (even though it seems more likely for Tenten to win in the long run)

I just didn't like this. The bloodline was just stupid, it didn't make sense. And the writing was not good enough to overcome the stupidity. The amount of hilarious cliches was not a good sign for the rest of the story.

I couldn't get past chapter 2. To some, unusual may mean interesting, but here, at least for me, it only meant random idiocy.

Im on Chapter 3 and I love it. The bloodline is so quirky and bizarre and original that you can see it being a canon bloodline. The Naruto verse ninja show that they are willing to use bizarre and peculiar traits in a offensive way.

    So far 4/5 would recommned.

From the reviews I half expected Naruto to be Buu reincarnate.

MagicallyDelicious!Naruto. It''s stupid, but it's weird enough just to see what the hell he could possibly do with such a moronic bloodline. There is some creepy stuff too: harvesting baby batter from a nine year old, a seductive tween Tenten. A ton of cliches: SuperBloodline!Naruto, a guilty Hogake/Kakashi, meddling Danzo/Civilian council, CoolAwesome costume change, probably more.

Despite this, the premise is such a strange idea that I'm still reading it. A guilty pleasure.

    EDIT: It gets worse. 2/5

I quite enjoyed the whirlpool related scenes. I've always like stories that dealt with the Uzumaki clan history, and the author managed to put a lot of feeling in the funerals.

Those were the suckiest parts of the story, hands down. Them and the singing. Doesn't everyone know by now, that music in a fic sucks balls 100% of the time? And then the author pulled some "last bard of the Uzumaki clan" thing in the latest chapter too. Singing + sentimental rubbish = fail.

Both the Uzumaki and Namikaze bloodlines are interesting. The author has a good imagination and isn't afraid to exercise it. The story holds up okay in the early chapters. The author manages to entertain and kept me engaged.

The author's weaknesses become apparent in the last half of the fic. There are some very strange decisions. Hinata and Tenten's characters are very different. Instead of exploiting the conflict between those two for our entertainment, the author has them cooperating almost from the start. The romance between Naruto, Hinata, and Tenten is... awful. It's been mishandled from beginning to end. The music theme is suddenly introduced. Once Naruto begins to convince the village that he's not a monster, there's no real conflict in the story. Naruto cruises through a couple of easy missions. Both times he stumbles across key parts of the Uzumaki/Whirlpool legacy. Naruto has become relegated to looking sad about his lost family and history. Almost, dare I say it... Sasuke-ish.

The story gets more emo the more I read of it.

I recommend reading the first handful of chapters, but stop reading right at the point that Naruto becomes a "hunter" by training for a year with his personal tiger summon. There's nothing good enough after that point to make it worth putting up with the problems.
