Trailer for The Adventures of Tintin: Secret of the Unicorn.

I'm a little disappointed that it's in CGI and not live-action, but at least they're making a Tintin movie. Tintin was probably the first comic strip series that I really enjoyed; it holds a soft spot in my childhood heart, so I'm looking forward to this movie.

Plus a Spielberg/Jackson collaboration sounds pretty sound on paper.

On paper. In practice, it doesn't look that great from the trailer - I'm a bit disappointed considering the name being Spielberg and Pete Jackson, also frankly, while some Tintin graphic novels were nice, they aren't that great either, actually those are one of the most racist graphic novels that I know! Trust me, I'm from Belgium, the land of the drawn strips.

I'll probably watch it, but that's because I have an unlimited pass to my local movie theatre.

I'm incredibly excited for this. It looks fantastic, and Moffat, Jackson and Spielberg? Surely that can't fail.

This looks great. Tintin's always been awesome, and while I don't think they can top the comics, this is looking good.

I don't like the CGI of the characters. They look too... artificial. And from the few movements they actually showed their movements look off.

I enjoyed the earlier movies as they managed to keep the atmosphere of the comics. Tintin in 3D just isn't the same.

Never read this comic or heard of Moffat, but the trailer looked like it might be a fun movie to go check out one afternoon. I thought it was about a dog though, and while I saw a dog in the trailer it didn't seem to be in the limelight.

Tintin had better get hit on the head by a guy in blackface or it's just not Tintin.

Ah, I had this confused with Rin Tin Tin (which actually was a fictional dog).

I just read up on this comic on Wikipedia and I've never heard of it at all before despite the fact that it's apparently somewhat famous and had a long run.

Still looks like a good show though.

    Tintin Trailer #2

I quite like this trailer more than the first one. Tintin, the Detectives, Snowy - I'm excited now. Moffat/Spielberg/Jackson/John Williams. If that combination of people does not work, I will be disappointed.

Minion is right. Dunno about Tintin in 3D.

Apart from the Speilberg Jackson Moffat combination as mentioned before it contains Nick Frost Simon Reig and Edward Wright combination.

Those three have never managed to disappoint me till now. So I am fucking excited for this movie.

I am definitely going to watch it, though I don't expect much.

And John Williams... his soundtracks are ok - but he more and more often quotes himself. His soundtrack for Harry Potter was meh. The soundtrack for the fourth movie was way better.

    Update: It's Out!

Fucking awesome, the way the scene changes from sand to water and the following couple of set pieces... Fuck yeah. There are many action sequences but the story is key here and it's fucking good. I watched it in 2d but will be watching it again this time in 3d just fucking because.

Just got back from watching it (in 3D, which wasn't bad but didn't add much that I could see, beyond bog standard coming out of the screen moments), and I absolutely loved it. It all looks fantastic, the script was brilliant, and the set pieces were incredible. They possibly tried to fit in a few too many characters and references, but basically, this is one of the films of the year.

Fucking Necromancer here, resurrecting the dead (threads)!

I was not aware until this past weekend that Tin Tin was even out yet, and was planning to take my kids to see The Muppets a couple days ago. Well, The Muppets was sold out and after I vetoed Alvin and the Chipmunks, we punted and decided to wait another day to see a movie. In that span of time, both my kids decided they'd rather see Tin Tin, which I'm not ashamed to say broke my shriveled heart a little bit.

Anyway, we opted for the 2D version to save about a billion dollars on ticket prices, and I can tell you that was a mistake; there were several points in that movie that I'm sure would have been *awesome* in 3D.

I highly, *highly* recommend you go out and see this one, as it was action-packed, and still full of story with twists and humor. The antagonist looks to have been modeled after Speilberg, while Tin Tin could have been modeled after no one but Neil Patrick Harris. Snowy and the detectives were great, and Captain Haddock was awesome. My only beef was that Haddock's accent reminded me too much of an overdone Shrek and/or Mike Meyers.

All in all, it was money well-spent, and the CGI was quite amazing. My favorite parts were, hands-down,
the crane fight and the way it harkened back to the plot with their ancestors, and the part with Tin Tin flying the airplane.

Saw it in 3D last week and I personally didn't think that the 3D added that much, would probably have preferred the brighter 2D version.

That said, it was awesome. Faithful and epic representation of the graphic novel/comic. Absolutely loved it. Great action, great animation, great music, great plot, great everything.

One of the better adventure movies I have seen in a long time. It's just tons of fun.
