Huh, I have noticed a bit of an issue with finishing folks off, but I don't generally play her for kills for myself. More for Deny/CC and Teamfight usefulness. With her farming ability I don't really need much in the way of kills to get plenty of gold.

Plus Morg has a shield of her own to defend against all that nasty magic damage he puts out.

But, what you say makes sense, nonetheless. I suppose I just haven't played against good ones.

 

Adding on to what Churchy said:

Nunu: Nunu's snowball does 275 + 1.0 AP. That comes no where near close enough to crack the shield, unless minions and you were hitting it before. This ignores the fact that snowball has 75 less range than Sion's stun and his shield explosion hits at the exact same range. Your sustain might bug him, but Sion can pick you apart enough for an easy gank.

Morgana: If Sion gets tagged by a binding, yes you can break the shield. Doesn't mean he won't rip you apart if you fail it. With his shield being that strong, he can just nuke your minion wave and cause your pool to do jack squat for healing if you placed it early.

Also, I haven't fully checked this, but Morg's shield doesn't stop certain CCs if the shield gets destroyed at the same time. I know that an Annie Tibbers that breaks shield will also carry the stun through it, but I'm not sure about Sion's.

Ashe: One of the lowest HP champs with no built-in escape. only 600 range so easily stunned. Volley can only do so much and it eats your mana like mad. That's not accounting for the fact that you don't have the damage to crack his shield or stop his pushes.

 

The thing is that vs Sion, morg is actually outpushed and farmed. His shield kills minions basically just as well as Morg's soil. Except his shield is like a soil that has 1100 radius to cover creeps with and is also instant damage so that his own creeps don't steal his farm occasionally. When morg clears the caster minions with her soil, Sion can take the entire wave out with a few well placed autoattacks and one shield. He also has better mana costs for these farming trades. This leaves morg farming her creeps at the tower which she can't do near as well as Sion.

On top of this, boots 5 sion ganks like a boss. Even considering common ward placements, sion can often get to you before you can retreat even after you see him coming and will net his team a kill or a flash at the least. Then he runs back to mid and clears the minion wave before heading top to do the same

That's what makes him so good (or broken) - and why he is a common ban in rankeds - is that he clears those waves so fast that he can roam the map without losing any gold over it. He can gank bottom like a boss, even tower dive very very early in the game. Flash, stun, ignite, pop shield, get out of the tower and get a kill. He can clears the enemy wraith camp every single time, steal the enemy's blue with a well placed ward, it's really absurd how broken this champion is.

 

..so. I just played an AP Sion match after reading a mobafire guide, to test out what you were all saying. And...

DAMN.

You're.. absolutely right. And I was absolutely wrong.

I'm not sure he's... 'completely' broken. His mana pool is still pretty small until later on, really limiting what he can do, but he is pretty damn powerful nonetheless.

 

He hasn't changed since his release really. He got a change to his MR that gave him scaling magic resist, and a few months ago his stun got nerfed from 2 seconds to 1.5. A year ago they changed the missle speed on his stun to be 1200 instead of 1000 or something equally useless.

The only thing that's changed in the last 2 years of LoL that made him go from barely viable sometimes to absurdly broken is the metagame. It's extremely easy to gank soraka vayne on bottom. You would never attempt to gank alistar/blitz though.

Speaking of blitz/alistar, has anyone seen them double jungle/roamed. Its the most terrifying thing I've ever seen.

They aren't THAT strong when it comes to beating you around. It's just BS super perma-cc that'll screw you over in the lane.

Honestly, that's why I hate that ward block removal. Was so much fun to beat a blitz or Rammus by using a well-timed ward.

On Triforce:
Triforce is more or less amazing. Ignore the phage and sheen procs entirely, and the item is still giving you nearly 1000g of free stats. On top of that, you get the phage proc, triforce proc (150% extra base damage on your next autoattack) and movespeed (which is extremely hard to come by and is second only to phantom dancers at 12%) all for free.

This is a deal made by Billy Mays or some shit, it's fucking amazing. The item gives you a mixed bag of stats that a lot of characters can make use of. If you can take advantage of all or even most of the stats, triforce is an amazing item for nearly any character, but especially tanky dps because they will get more bang for their buck out of this item than characters who build full damage builds will.

Irelia makes full use of all the stats on triforce considering she is mana dependent and has some significant AP ratios as well.

Honestly, you folks play at a level higher than mine right now.

Not to say that I think I suck, but If I've played 100 games total, bot games included, I'll change my forum name to Shaco's Bitch, or something else equally ridiculous and embarrassing.

However, I'm not ready for that level of play yet. So while I appreciate the invite and the attempts to teach me, for now I think I'll just whet my skills against players of my peer group, until I can do something besides drag a team like you fellas down by feeding obviously superior players.

If I'd had a mic for vent, I would have been saying something similar. Just with less specifics.

Also, Someone was yelling at someone about getting Philo and Heart of Gold, and yet the most popular/top rated guide on MOBA recommends them both to help with GP10 and early game lane sustain. Also recommends an early Triforce.

I realize where you are coming from, but you didn't say Triforce was a bad choice vs two tanky dps, you said Triforce is a bad item on most champs, including Irelia, which is simply not true.
