Churchey question for you about Teemo. Why top lane? I almost always play mid so when I get my shrooms I spread out either side warding up the gank paths. Whats the difference in the different lanes?

And yeah I'd stopped buying boots alltogether shortly after I made that post. Still working on Temmo, learning Brand atm.

teemo goes top when he counters the champion up there. He counters an incredibly large amount of the traditional top lane champs and completely screws over their early game farm while being able to avoid being ganked.

He is less effective mid becuase he doesn't counter the champions who go mid as well, or often at all.

Generally AP champs mid and AD champs top. Teemo counters AD so he does well up there.
He also doesn't need to ward both sides with shrooms to be ungankable, only the river. This means he can use his shrooms with more offensive placements because he doesn't have to expend so much keeping his gank areas safely covered.

    Same with Olaf.

And in regards to the Gunblade spell vamp with your on-hit Fizz build, spell vamp only heals you when you use an ability that isn't on hit. That's why it was so popular on a ton of AD casters. Life steal didn't work with their abilities, but spell vamp did.

Of course you already found that out through your own testing, just thought I'd put in my two cents.

In regards to Skarner, I've been playing him lately and he's insanely strong. When you build Metagolem he's one of the best champs in the game. Triforce, Atmogs and your choice of tanky items and he becomes a god. I've had a lot of success when I lane him up top. His jungle is pretty awesome though it's more of a counter jungler as opposed to gank oriented jungling. His ganks pre-6 aren't that powerful against teams that ward well. Also, even though you can't auto attack while you ult someone, you can still Q them to death. Definitely one of my favorite tanky dps champs.

    EDIT: Also, holy shit!!!

See, thing is, lots of the top lane AD champs rely on auto attacks and massive farming.

Teemo excels at denying this farm and stopping auto attacks.

In the few games I play as Teemo top, I crap on any champ that wants to perma farm. Just need to pew pew them twice with autos and use defense masteries + armor runes to shrug off all the minion aggro.

They won't be able to stop you unless they run cloth + 5 or boots + 3, and get ganks.

    Karthus' Ult is so awesome.

So I was solo queuing today (much to my dismay), and I end up teamed up with a group made almost entirely of AD Melee. (Trynd, Xin, Gangplank and Akali.) But they're all terrible, and despite having a short initial 5 v 4 advantage, they feed the enemy Garen, and Yi.

Seven minutes in we were 1 to 8

So I figure, we're fucked anyway, may as well have some fun with my ult. And the next time theres a team battle (and I'm alive/my ult is off CD), I use it before anyone gets hurt enough to secure a kill.

To my surprise, my team rallies and kills a few, we push. But we're still like 12 to 23 (not exact).

From that point forward, I carried like a bawse. Walling so folks could get away, or so my team could catch others. Turning team-fights to my team's advantage with Defile, annoying the shit out of their tanks with my Q, securing kills with my ult.

At one point, they were fighting in the river, almost inside the line o' bushes. So I stood on the edge of said river where Yi and Garen couldn't turn and rape me, popped Defile, and Laid Waste to their team.

For the first time in the month since I've had him. I had a good damned experience with Karthus.

We end up rallying for the win, (like 32 to 31 at the end), with me as the only member of my team with a positive K/D ratio (I think trynd was even, 7/7 or something).

    It was awesome.

So my question is, is doing that regularly, ulting with Karthus not to secure kills, but to turn team-fights and make them hesitant to engage an accepted tactic, or is it not accepted as part of the current meta?

And to top it all off I had nice dramatic classical/rock music fusion playing in the background the entire time.

That move is alright, but honestly only worked because players aren't used to Nunu anymore.
Back in the day when there were 40 champs, you knew not to follow nunu into a brush because he was a popular champ. Damn these kids and their esports.

If you want a better example of Karthus play (imo), check out reginald's karthus in the second TSM vs Epikgamer match. It was a straight stomp. Epik tried for Baron, and Karth just ulted them to scare them off of it (it was an early baron). They proceeded to take baron because the enemy team was too low on HP to engage comfortably. Later on, he ults them and they are too low on HP to defend a turret.

TLDR: Either way can be extremely strong. If you're not rushing a mejais (which you shouldn't be), it can be beneficial to ult at the start of a gank instead of waiting to KS it.

I've never actually gotten a mejai's on Karthus. I generally use This Guide: Karthus: Karaoke Has Never Been This Dangerous for my items. Though I prefer an Offensive-Tree focus instead of a Utility.

(I have no idea why it's named that.)

I'm starting to really see what you mean now, though. I have to admit I'm still pretty noobish when it comes to Karth, but I'll be damned if that isn't changing soon.

    :facepalmKarthus the Deathsinger.
I prefer the tanky build. Rod into rylais into wota into deathcap. You wade into the enemy team with defile on and spam your lay waste. The enemy team has to invest a significant amount of effort into killing you. By the time they finish, your team should be engaged on them well enough that the 6 seconds of your passive can be put to full effect before finally channeling your ultimate.

I think it just works better than glass cannon because you aren't do or die based on how well your team defends you.

    Don't forget Revive and Teleport!

Some streamer started it, and while a bit noob-ish, believe me it can be deadly if done right.

    Some more work on Fizz:
Building tanky dps using attackspeed runes and 1 speed item (wits end normally) proves to be superior to a full on-hit build. Boots wits end boots2 triforce atmogs fon.
In other words, generic tanky dps strikes again. METAGOLEM!
    http://imageshack.us/f/809/metagolem.png/
Surge works really well on him, but only slightly better than an ignite would.

More testing with jungle fizz shows me that without a pull, 21/9/0 is 10-15 seconds faster than 9/21/0. I feel like the 15 seconds, 6 armor pen, 3% lifesteal, 1.5% damage dealt and executioner isn't worth giving up 10% decreased cc reduction, 1.5% damage, 3% hp, the free hp from veteran's scars, and 8% cd reduction. But today a good skarner finished his jungle and ganked mid at level 4 while I was finishing red. He and vlad tower dove morg so it ended up being a 2 for 1 and a buff refresh for me, but he was a good 30 seconds faster than I was.
Fizz doesn't necessarily jungle for super speed though.

I think I just got trolled by a very insane Yi.

So in the first minute of the game he runs to mid tower and starts hitting it before trying to run away but he has no boots so that shit isn't happening. He then doesn't leave mid and fights Kog with only a maki pend. for almost 9 minutes. He of course dies so many times it is insane, i think it was something like 10/1 for Kog by the 12 minute mark and he is wrecking inner tower before me and Alistar gank his ass. I almost get 2 hit death, but then Alistar cc's and I am in range to blind the ugly thing which I do. I know that seems kinda stupid to wait so long, but our Warwick was holding mid for us while Yi was dying. I am so glad the rest of Kog's team sucked or it would have been 20 minute gg, but instead we had 6/14 score going into 20 minutes because no one would leave towers to risk Kog who really failed at barraging people. So Yi goes baron twice sometime around this point, dies obviously and I just want to strangle that motherfucker. So we keep getting pushed back by a Kog/Garen combo in mid when all their team pushes like crazy and takes 3 towers. I run and lay shrooms hoping that I will survive and make it to base. Garen runs into the shrooms and just spins through the slows before Yi pops and out kills him. I was so happy that Yi had finally gotten a kill I didn't say anything about him leaving us at the tower. Yi then proceeds to gank/kill everyone on the other team except Kog before ulting back to base for no reason. Yi then spends the next 10 minutes murdering like a boss before finally killing the godlike Kog after following him into base and teleporting away. He then spends the rest of the game killing Kog and not touching anyone else. We win.

    Love this

I went top last night. I shall call it my new home. I was wtf owning everything. The only person who came close to being able to hang was the other teams Teemo and we were laughing our balls off at winding up having the same number of kills at the end. The only reason we lost the match was one guy ragequit, and the other dude went afk, and me and the other few guys still managed to hold the base for 70 minutes. =/ I see what you mean about denying the minion kills being a big part my guys wound up being a few levels higher then the other team across the board for most of the game. Previously I'd just went after them when I felt safe to do it, not really going out to deny them kills.

I switched up last night to a hybrid setup, with 230 +/- AD, enough attack speed to get me to 2 a second, life leech, and massive armor penetration, and I was straight up tanking and killing everyone but Gangplank, who raped me like I had fishnets on and was begging for it, lol.

TSM House is what made their team work so well. Their teamwork was insane, especially with how they basically lol'd at zileans ult. Everyone always says 'well, just dont kill whoever he ults', but in the thick of a team fight, that can be hard. But they lulz'd right past it at least twice, managing to stop the dps and kill someone else while waiting it out.

The coordination needed to keep Regi from just being absurdly overagressive insane and instead an effective ganker who jumps in head first and wins... That was impressive.

I was rooting for Dyrus the whole time, sure, and the EG team comps in the Grand Finals were kinda... well, kinda bad, especially when they had bad bans, too. TSM earned the win hardcore, I just wish EG had put up a better fight : /

Word is they partied pretty hard the night before, that's never smart before a competition. Ever.

But even if they hadn't, TSM was totally beast. Their teamwork was nigh flawless, the initiations were perfect, They could not be out-laned/pushed, their warding was far, far superior.

They still would have won, it just would have taken longer.
