@Yeagen. Started boots 3 pots because I had a Sona lane with me. Using leona as support doesn't really work. Having a dedicated tank and a dedicated support works pretty well. However, doing so means that you need a hard carry either in the jungle or in top lane. We had a blitzcrank jungle, gangplank top, and I don't remember who mid.

A lot of the lane power came from Sona, my E-->Q, combined with a powercord+Q from sona was enough to burst someone for most of their HP. It also allowed us some sustain from her heals. We split the farm and the kills, and were something like 5-1 bottom vs vayne/soraka. My build was philo-->HoG-->boots 2, shurelyas. From there build for what you are facing, and keep in mind that the 70armor/mr you get from shield makes HP very effective. With only a HoG/Shurelyas you should be very tanky and just run around ccing bitches. I helped Sona out with the wards so that she could build real items as well, which meant that we had very good map control and a support that had hefty damage and heals (compared to normal). From there I built a sunfire followed by a negatron and a giants belt because I wanted HP to counter vayne's true damage somewhat, and to match my MR to my armor. I would've likely built them into warmogs (Because it is OP) and a FoN, then finished my HoG-->randuins.

@WalkingDisaster: Fizz nerfs do nothing except hurt his early game and buff his late game with the new spellshield interactions. Now he can still initiate with his ult against banshees veils without worrying about it being wasted. 20 damage and a .1 ratio nerf aren't even significant to his mid or late game. The base health regen change is nothing to change his mid/late game at all, and very little to change his early game.

Fizz's early game was already complete shit. He countered very, very few champions in lane and was hard countered by anyone with a ranged autoattack. Autoattack ranges and spell ranges are calculated differently. A 525 attack range is roughly equivalent to a 800 spell range. This is why Ori can autoattack pretty much the same distance she can throw her ball. Fizz's gap closer was 550 range, meaning anyone with a ranged autoattack outranged it. Anyone with a ranged spell outranged it. Anyone with brains outranged it. He has two gap closers, that means he can E-->Q you, but that also drains his mana 3x faster than pretty much any mages, and also means he is trying to kill you with his autoattacks alone while you are free to unload your spells on his face.

Fizz is a pubstomp champion and will continue to pubstomp. These changes were unnecessary and they actually do nothing to him at all. Fizz will still dominate early game vs people who don't know how to counter him, and still get dominated early by anyone who does.

Completely useless, skip over these unless you plan on including 2 warmogs in your builds.

Man, that Lux buff. I've been attempting to wean myself off of Clarity by taking Ignite but this buff didn't help. In just normal queue, I absolutely dominate during the laning phase. I don't think I'll understand how useless Clarity is until I play ranked or something.

I bet you thought Sion's small base + AP ratio nerf was a really hard nerf too...

I tried blind pick again because I wanted to rack up some points fast for when Ahri comes out and people always ban my favs in draft.

    Never. Fucking. Again.

I think I had a streak of five damn games where my bot and top lanes were practically spoonfeeding the enemy. When it wasn't that, they were non-english speakers, which poses it's own problems.

Going to try assassin/ad champs around now. Who does DLP recommend, Vayne or Twitch?

Go tanky dps and just steamroll the enemy team.

Shyvanna and Volibear are two of my favorites at doing this.

I played this game in the beta back then and I was actually pretty decent at that time, but still, I stopped playing after a short time, simply because I liked HoN better. Now I want to play again and after a few matches, all of which my team lost horribly, I find out that I completely suck at this game.

Any tips on how to ease back into the game? Just getting roflstomped doesn't really do the trick.

Start a new account and practice relearning the game on lower level players.

If you are really doing poorly, search solomid.net or clgaming.net for some "general" guides on the game and some specific guides for the champions you want to use.

If you are really really really doing poorly, play the 2 training modes. The first one is very basic, but the advanced training is actually very informative and helpful.

10 bucks says Ahri will get nerfed. I feel like it's a Riot strategy now. Come out with new OP champs, tons of people buy, then nerf :p

Hello, yes it's nice to have you, Ahri...
Dynasty Ahri(a.k.a. Korean Ahri) isn't too bad, but not enough of a difference for my preference. Midnight Ahri is pretty nifty though.

So... who else recognizes Ahri's dance?:awesome

It's from some japanese band that has 9 female members.

She also deals damage 9 times with her ult, or 9 times to a single target.

I bought both of them, and enjoy them both massively. I got my ass handed to me last match I played though, by a Morgana who was more then willing to take a shot to get close enough to me to pop her spell immunity then stun lock nuke me to goo. I paired up with a Warwick and got a truckload of kill assists, since they'd run out of range super fast and Warwick would smack the sliver of life I'd left them out. But I see that Xerath is focused super fast if you can play him well.

Sion I just had fun with no matter what, even though I dont like melee champs.

I don't get that annoyed at them, because everyone has bad games, and everyone has learning pains here and there. I do get mad when they dont even try, or when they flat out tell you they're going to screw around. I had a Ashe trying to jungle in the enemy jungle last week. And his buddy Volibear was bitching wanting solo mid over my Karthas.

I hate solo q as well, but when I'm actually at home and can game, no one from here is available on my list =*(

    Ahri (Potter) is nice, but...

    - Her E is her only crowd control effect, is a skill shot with low projectile speed which makes it sometime hard to land it (especially on target moving away)
    - Her W spell AP ratio is quite low; the damage are meh when they hit fully, something that rarely happens (minions).

All in all, I feel that while she may be a bit good versus enemies that don't know how to play against her (obvious), she remains a bit underpowered, and lose her power late game.

The thing I realised when that happens to me is that in truth, half the time I am just a bad as those feeders. If you are an average player then you will win 50% of the games. If it's not the case, then there obviously something wrong. Losing 12 games in a row is practically impossible if you play normally.

Personally, I seem to be susceptible to the "tilt" effect, especially in ranked games. My score doesn't always show it - but it's there.

Okay, it's been a while now, so I have a sincere inquiry. That being, in your honest opinion, what is the relative viability of Doran's items, as compared to obtaining an item(especially at the start) that will be built into something better? Also, when would you consider the opposite to be true?

Aside from the tutorial where you are forced to, I have never actually bought a Doran's item, instead favoring builder items. That said, a fair portion of 'higher tier' players(or players that simply buy the 'recommended items'), seem to favor starting with a Doran's, and even sometimes getting a second or third for, presumably, an early game lead. I can see how they are technically better for their price in the short term, statistically, but is it really all that worth it, since they could also be considered dead weight later on, or even be delaying the purchase of items that you really want.

This is just something I've been honestly curious about, and I was wondering what my good fellows here at DLP had to say on the matter.

I use Doran items on characters who, if boosted faster than normal, will utterly destroy enemy teams. Twitch and Garen get more benefits from dual Swords than any other two items of comparable cost. Garen because every stat gives him the sustain he wants, and Twitch because he desperately needs the life and lifesteal. With the masteries and double sword, he has 9% lifesteal, which isn't bad. He still won't survive burst, but he can survive harass better. I have no clue about the others, as the only time I've used the shield was on Skarner when I was first learning jungle pre-patch. Now I use the philosopher stone health regen amulet instead.

If a Doran's item would let you secure even one kill you wouldn't have gotten normally, they even out in the long term. Also, if you can afford them, there is really no downside to picking one up, because it is only when you are really rich do you actually need all 6 item slots.
