There are two of me, apparently. Anyway, I left for school at around 6:50a.m. today and didn't get home until around 8:30p.m.. I did post a few times between classes, but I've mostly been pretty busy today(and Thursdays). I've been relaxing for the most part since I came home, so I do apologize for that. Especially since I'm about to go to sleep.

That said, if I had to vote for somebody at this point...

I can't say that I'm sure about him, but I've already stated my suspicions about Ashaya, and Vesvius just is rubbing me a bit the wrong way at the moment. Well, more than Jwlk, at the least, so if anybody has to get it, eh. I like the idea of voting for something other than a lynch on Day 1, but it's also like twice the confusion of Day 1 lynch voting, that I previously expressed my distaste for.

I'm not quite sure who I will put a lynch vote for yet, since I hate voting without a good reason, but if lurkers stay a-lurkin' then I suppose that's a standard fallback option. Perhaps not the best option, since logically it's just as likely(more actually) to fail than succeed, but .

Odd? Why would a pro-town player, who calls himself not so great at role reads, say that. The box may or may not put a target over your head, but if I had a meh role, I wouldn't go out and down play it, because then scum is less likely to NK me, and more likely to hit a power role. Obviously, no one wants to die, but living and serving no purpose while someone else could live and serve a bigger purpose then you do is an advantage to your faction. And, in the end, it doesn't matter who is alive, it just matters which faction wins.

Therefore, I believe he is not being truthful. Besides, he literally stole every reasoning I gave for voting me for the hobo's box... So don't vote for the platform-stealer! I'm the original! I'd do the best with the box. Not Ashaya or Vesvius!

And your last argument kinda confuses me. I don't deserve the box because... I downplay my role so that I might live long enough to use it? That's just kind of a weird arguement.

But anyway, on to the lynch vote. The person I'm most suspicious of right now is Vira. She's normally way more active then this, and here she's only posted twice. Once to vote for Jwlk, and once to say that there might be multiple scum factions. So even though I'm the only one, I'm tossing it on.

As far as I see, no one has. All I'm voting on is that Vesvius seems slightly less suspicious than Ashaya and jwlk.

Ah, okay. Haven't read Dresden, way too much powerful & confusing roles for my taste, especially as I haven't read the books.

So, back to Awesomefia: First, the box. Originally, I voted for jwlk, as he seemed pretty town, then rescinded because of contradicting posts. I'm still hesistant because of that, so it's either Vesvius and Ashaya. I can't read Ashaya; her play seems to be more serious than usual, and also more town (though she was town even when I thought her scum in earlier games, so yeah. No idea, really). In contrast to Vesvius, she also didn't claim an unimportant role. However, Vesvius is not contributing much to scum hunting right now and is in no way less ominous. That means:

Vote for Box: Ashaya

Then, lynching. I do advocate to lynch today no matter if we have really suspicious targets, as we neither know if we have a Judge nor whether there are roles that depend on (mis-)lynching. Many stated that first-day lynch is pretty random, which has some truth in it. So, Evan Tide is as good as any other; I won't change my vote for someone I might find a tad more suspicious than him, as at least he has numerous votes already. Anyway, at the end of the day, I will likely change my vote to someone who can gain a majority to assure a lynch.

 

Something about this posts feels very off to me. The entire reason for *tuiz*'s bandwagon was because he was lurking. Once he started posting that reason disappeared, so why exactly are you so adamant about lynching him? The is the first day, remember, it's basically guess work on who to lynch or not.

 

Lost, I'm having a little trouble following your logic here. You voted for Ashaya because you said Vesvius isn't really contributing to scum hunting atm. But then you go on to say that you're lynching for the sake of a first day lynch as we have no real idea on roles. You even say your NOT voting for who you find the most suspicious but just going with the bandwagon so we get a lynch.

I find this attitude scummier then anything else that's been posted tbh.

Well, I don't want the damn box (it'll get me killed, like, night one, and that's unfun). I don't want scum to get the box (because it might be some power similar to a mayor vote, and we'll probably not even figure out what it does because of the general secrecy in this game).

And I can't get a clear read on the people who want the damn box.

I really don't see the person who gets the box dying the first night. The reason? Because I think everyone wants to know what is in the box bad enough to let the person live for at least a day.

 

How about this. All of us vote one person for the box. Once they get the box, if they don't share it, then that person dies in a fire.

First of all, I am not "adamant". You quoted the post yourself, I dont see how you could infer that from what I wrote. I merely said that when *tuiz* came out of the lurk, he said nothing that made me feel like my vote was better placed on someone else. The fact that he stopped lurking doesn't exactly stop making him suspicious; it just gives him a chance to convince me otherwise, which he didn't.

And as you said, it's basically guess work. So here I am, guessing.

With all this fuss over the box, I hope it's good. Realistically, any random person is going to have the same chance of being scum on Day 1.

I've been thinking... maybe this Mysterious Box doesn't have a set effect, instead it might have several options depending on who opens it. So if a scum player gets it, it will give a very good scum ability, while if a townie gets it then we will get a great ability to deal with scum.

We really need to be careful who gets this box tbh. It's not something like lump thats an extra vote, the uncertainity makes the box's value that much higher.

To those who say we need to be careful about who gets the box: yeah. I figured that's why it's still up in the air and not just given to random person #3. That's one of the major reasons I want it. I know my alignment and no one else's.

Saying that though, I'm 90% sure jwlk is town, or at least a solo scum. His posts for the box are attention getters, while a scum would've been a bit subtler. If it looks like I'm not getting the box, I'll probably vote for him. But not unless it looks like there's no way for me to get it myself.

Finally, one thing we're overlooking. While I'm sure that the box holder will survive the night, if only because the scum will want to see if they can use him/her, I'm equally sure the investigatory roles will check them out post haste. And a scum with the mystery box is too big a deal to sit on for long. While its possible the box gives an immunity to checks, it's unlikely IMO. So if I'm scum, I'll be dead by the end of day 2.

I don't think the scum will see it that way. They're not going to put their curiosity over killing a potentially really town-boosting gift. Especially if the box contains something crucial like information. They might target the box player night 1 so I think we need to protect him/her if there is such a town role, at least for night 1 so we can find out what's in the box and how useful it is for us.
