I recently installed it on a computer, but every time I tried to scan the system, it closed after clicking the button to do it. I found out why - it's because MAM is running from different drive than C:/. Unfortunately C is non hard disk drive on this computer, so I can't simply reinstall it there.

Any idea how to overcome this problem? I know it's possible to change letters on drives, but I've never done it and only heard it can be sometimes messy. Better solutions?

 

Oh, FFS. I lost my post. Here's the skinny:

Two possible solutions: 1. Folder redirection to a drive letter. eg. d:\apps\malwarebytes\mbam.exe could also appear as c:\mbam.exe - I dunno if that will solve your problem.

2. Portable version. It's very hard to find one outside of warez sites. Hiren's BootCD to the rescue. It has a portable MBAM albeit with a 9 month old malware signature file. It should allow you to run MBAM from a boot disc. If you haven't heard of it, Hiren's is a mature, well known, and well regarded boot disc solution for troubleshooting.
