Sooo.. If I might get some insight from the more experienced (with ranked) players.

Why isn't Volibear seen more? Is there some hidden fatal flaw in his kit that makes him easily shut down?

Cause I picked him up today, and once I get rolling it's really fucking hard to stop me. Yah, his early game is weak. And he's susceptible to ganks like whoa for the first half of the game.. but once that warmogs hits he becomes this nasty nigh unstoppable beast.

 

He's fun, but he's outperformed by other champions in a similar role i.e. Olaf, Singed, etc.

 

Funny, I just played against an Olaf and singed. Olaf couldn't burst through my armor AND health, and Singed didn't expect to get tossed then slowed when he came in to toss me (which is funny as hell, btw, consider that is singed's THING.)

Can anyone else confirm? Maybe my game as a fluke.

 

Nope, Volibear really is strong as a champion. I just feel as though (for me personally), Volibear's kit didn't really bring anything new to the game. He's strong, but nothing really notable either. Another problem is, despite his movement speed increase, he can still be kited rather easily. Because of this, it requires a good team comp to make him work well. (Provided that the other team isn't retarded and out of position).

 

I usually beat Volibear when I'm playing Singed, but Volibear is still very strong in his role. And I think his fling is better, what with the movement speed increase first.

 

Eh maybe its just the players then but I've never seen a solitary Volibear who I couldn't insta-rape and I'm not even good at all. I usually play as Wukong/Warwick/Graves and all of the Volibears I've fought have been utter pushovers.

 

I lost a ranked game because junglebear decided it would be a good idea to toss a full health Graves onto Caitlyn after tower diving, die in the process and feed throughout the entire game. So yeah, it's entirely possible to fail as Voli.

 

Has anyone tried to use gold quints and masteries to counter Kassadin's poor farming? I tried it in Dominion and he really shines with like a 7 min mana=AP rod and a 15 minute deathcap.

LoL, that's good insight to a degree.. but everything you say is tainted by your avatar. I just can't take you seriously with it, at all.

 

Honestly, the only thing about Volibear that really annoys me from time to time is his Frenzy bite which scales off of his HP(260+15% of bonus health), and how low the enemy's health is(1% for each 1% missing). The cooldown is 18 seconds though, but the 400 range catches me off guard sometimes.
(Quick calculations, puts a silly build of six Warmog's, ignoring runes/masteries, giving him a bonus 1143 damage on his Frenzy... thus 1403 - 2806 damage)

...of course, Nidalee's Takedown works similarly, with technically lower base value(100+1.0AD) that can be a higher if you chose to stack AD, and scales up to 300% depending on health missing.
(A comparable 'silly' build for Nidalee would be five BT's and an IE for some uber crits, coming out to +692 bonus AD, again ignoring runes/masteries... thus 792 - 2376, except it could crit for 1980 - 5940... oh and a six second CD :3 Give it the bonus AD and crit damage mastery and crit damage runes, and it hits a max of around 7356.)

This. I don't mind playing with you guys, but shit there's criticisms coming from this guy all game long. I still get annoyed that he calls me stupid and don't know how to play Kennen cause I don't rush Zhonyas on him Or how he yells at a Pantheon for not building tanky when he's a Rammus with a Phantom Dancer + extra zeal and not a single MR item (Ok, Merc Treads, w/e), and there's a Le Blanc on the other team.

Tbh, I honestly couldn't care less that Rammus decided to go damage like that. They are just normal games, and if it's fun, there's no real problem. But stop criticizing others when :facepalm w/e Don't feel like ranting anymore.

 

He's calling other people stupid when he can't farm and harass at the same time as a carry, rune himself properly or even understand what runes are for, supporting spamming tears on practically all champs, and saying Last Whisper is shit on AD carries?

I can't even remember the last time I built a tear on someone other than Ryze.

(But he did give me an earlier blue though, so I didn't really get mad. Especially when I had just killed a Fizz so still had a half full blue).

 

I like most of the crew that play LoL like bros, but other then a few I just can't play with them. I'm still learning, and unfortunately I'm having to do it in Solo queue because I'm not going to hear shit if I don't last hit every minion ever spawned in my lane, while I'm a lvl 8 playing with a buncha tower diving at lvl 3 30s with full rune pages =P

I can usually do average to awesome if I'm playing with folks my own skill level or even level, but some of the guys take it way too seriously. I like playing with Fen and Krogan, even though we often loose, lol, because it's amusing and stress free.

 

Middy, there is the matter of learning the game properly. As you get towards 30, you want to know more and more about the game so you don't get shit on the second you hit 30 normals and Q_Q your way to an uninstall.

I agree completely that at level 8 no one should be raging at you if you aren't playing like a level 30. Last hitting? At level 8, I wanted a fight in the brush at the beginning of EVERY game. 1v1 bitches! (or 2v2 if in top or bot, as there is no such thing as a jungler at that level) No one realized what the mini map was, we fought in whatever lane we wanted without caring about who or what goes where. I didn't even know there was a dragon until a good bit in. (All of that ^ is really stupid btw)

If anyone is raging at you because you should, somehow, know those things, then they're just /derp.

But if you are playing with more than one 30, you're need to either stop, get up to that higher game knowledge, or enjoy being raged at. As the levels get averaged, you might have at least a couple of 30's on the other team too, and they'll shit all over your day. I don't know many people that can take having their game go awful without losing their head and blowing up at someone. If you're the level 8 who is endlessly feeding, expect that someone to be you.

 

Man, I love playing Olaf and listening to various covers of the Sons of Skyrim. Fun stuff.
