I'm looking for a story that I read a couple of months ago. Not sure if it was mentioned on DLP or not.

Premise was this, shortly before Halloween James gets wind of (manipulative) Albus plan and that Lily plans to go along with it, and refuses to do so.

Lily get's shuffled off, Voldemort is somehow spiritified and I don't remember what exactly happens to Dumbledore.

Yes, this sounds absolutely horrible so far.

The story continues with James taking a political stance, ensuring that his sons grow up properly and trying to improve the magical world as a whole.

This was quite probably a short story, I seem to recall a lot of time-skips with only a couple of snippets showing how the children grow up, and as far as I remember I actually liked the story despite my usual dislike towards non-Harry centric fics.

If anyone could toss me a link to this I'd be grateful.

    That's it, thanks.

I wouldn't exactly recommend it here, but still a neat way to spend a couple of minutes. The Marauders taking on the world. And winning.
