I'm curious who has transition'd to a tablet either an iPad or an Android variant. I'd also like to know if people are reading there fanfics on a tablet

I've started reading a lot of fanfics on my phone actually. Not just due to convenience, but it gives you that immersiveness that you get while reading a book. Because you don't have all the other distractions you get on a computer.

Thinking about getting a cheap Android tablet (you can get China makes for like <$200AUD) or a Kindle-type reader for a bigger screen.

Eh, I use my Android tablet sometimes, but I prefer to use my Kindle. E-ink Kindle > Tablet > Phone > PC in my opinion, at least for reading. E-ink is much better.

I usually do read WBA updates on my tablet, but only because the Kindle browser sucks and it's too much trouble to load them on there.

I read everything on my iPad now. Its just incredibly convenient. I use tapatalk for DLP and then either instapaper or use the mobile ff.net site for general fanfiction reading.

I use both iPad and Android tablets for reading fics. The poll would only let me choose one though, so I went with the iPad.

I also read on an Android phone and a Win7 laptop.

I use my Asus transforemer prime when I'm not reading on the computer. There is a nifty app that lets you save fics so you don't need to have access to the internet all the time while reading.

I use my Android phone for reading, and it suffices. I do convert all fics to ebooks, though.

I use my Kindle Fire for updates to stories I've read, but I put my stories that I haven't read onto my Kindle 3G so I can read them wherever I go.

    I read stuff on my computer, sitting in an uncomfortable chair. ;_;

I'm in the same book with the iphone. I don't have an ipad (as it just seems like an iphone that can't make phone calls and is less portable).

I use my Kindle sometimes, because, as Rubicon said, E-ink is by far the best option for reading.

I use my Kindle 3 (which isn't a tablet) to read fanfiction and stuff when I go to bed. Otherwise, I just use my laptop. I've never been able to justify the cost to myself in buying an iPad (or any apple product really) or other tablet, but that's a subject that's been beaten to death.

I use a first-gen iPad for what little fanfiction I still read. There is zero chance that I will adopt a tablet for general computing; even with a bluetooth keyboard, the interface is too clunky.

I was of the same opinion as The Heir, but after being gifted with an ipad my opinion has done a complete 360. It took over my reading completely in the first week, no longer being bound to the computer chair is awesome. As time has passed it has cut into my regular surfing as well, when I'm gaming I naturally just browse with my computer but nowadays if i'm not actually sitting by my computer the ipad has become my go-to internet source as well.

You mean "180". A reversal of opinion is a 180. A 360 would be "no change".

Yeah, I use my iPad for pretty much everything. I have a laptop too, but the only thing I use it for is Word - I have a bluetooth keyboard, but using it gets rid of my auto-correct for some reason.

    Otherwise, iPad > Computer massively.

I read about 90% on my E72 (blackberry-like), because I prefer to do other things on PC and my handheld got the font just right. I do have Android tablet, but this shit is too big to be comfortable and I tend to read in some very strange positions most of the time - thus, good ol' Nokia FTW.

Seriously, if I had to put up with reading FF (esp if I stumble upon Shezza's work or similar again) on my PC for ~8hrs straight, my back would murder me in a year.
