For those who don't visit Cracked very often,

They've just done another article on fanfiction. This time, 5 fan fiction sex scenes you won't believe exist. Now I imagine, given the nature of the forum, almost all of us believe they do exist and some of us will have stumbled on worse.

The reason I posted here rather than just straight up into humour though was because of the first sentence "We assume that the vast majority of you reading this are familiar with the Internet's obsession with fan fiction, where regular people write new adventures involving their favorite characters."

When I first started reading fanfiction, it was the dirtiest secret I had and I wouldn't admit it ever. Nowadays I don't really mind, and what with the success of fifty shades, I've heard at least two conversations in real life about twilight fanfiction in the last month.

I know this isn't the first time something like this has been discussed, I remember the article in Time Magazine on fanfiction, was it? But I think it has become even more acceptable since then and I'm curious what some of you guys think now.

Oh, also, I would read the shit out of an inglourious basterds style Magneto and Lecter: nazi hunters.

 

Yeah, the fanfiction is slowly becoming more popular among the so called majority. I actually expect that sooner than later it will reach the critical mass of being trendy and we will discover that everyone is reading it these days. And that will make us all hipsters, because we did it before it was popular.
