Yeah this overall season was just meh. They need to step their game up writing wise.

Getting rid of Anson and the campy mccamper feel would go a long way towards improving the next season.

When Michael started going to other countries for the CIA I was like "Fuck yeah, spy show!" but they only did that for like two episodes. :/

Started to watch this today, I heard about it, but thought it was going to be bad because of the narrator voice- which normally equals a bad show in my experiance- but I just finished watching episode five, and it's decent.

I burned through Season 4 and half of Season 5 before I got tired and skipped like five episodes. Knowing Burn Notice I knew I wouldn't really miss anything important.

Their format of 35+ minutes episodic content and 7+ minutes serial plot is tiresome after a while I have to say. Especially if you're watching them back to back. They really need to take a page out of Nikita's (great fucking show, watch it) book and tie the episodic plots more to the main story (unless they did this in the episodes I skipped :p) and stop making it seem like the main plot only shows up near the end of the show. Granted this seems to have been less of a problem recently but it's been around from the beginning. It seems like an annoying sideshow.

    As for the finale
I'm so hoping Fi stays gone. I know Burn Notice is a pretty light show but I think it would do some good. She's fucking terrible. There's always something about her that just annoys the fuck out of me, first it was her inexplicable ability to seduce every man in a ten mile radius and post Season 3 it's her constant bitching.

It's like the writers have a list they have to follow. Every episode a problem comes up, and every episode Fi suggests the shoot/blow up/ stab it till it goes away, at which point one of the other characters will point out that they can't for whatever reason. I wouldn't mind her threatening if she actually did it every once in a while but all I can think when she does so is "Bitch please, keep your tampon on, you know you're gonna be talked out of it any second now". Don't even get me started on how bad it got when it involved some innocent woman in danger.

I know Burn Notice is a pretty family-friendly show and that they need to keep their heroes squeaky-clean, but they could do it without pointing it out every episode.

I also don't like the fact that they killed off Michael's best enemies in the past two seasons. Unlike most people I liked Larry, I think he was underutilised and his "we're the same" shtick got old quickly because there was no response from Michael. It goes back to the family friendly thing, it's difficult to show Michael's darkness, we get glimpses but it's mostly let untouched, so Larry just comes off as delusional (which I guess was the point).

Brennan I liked as well, and was very sad to see go that way, there's very few people who provide some spice apart from Michael's legion of handlers/blackmailers.

I don't know how many of you are still watching this show, but I'm finally getting caught up.

Season 6 Episode 6 spoilers below. (It's been over a month since the show aired, so fuck your couch. No spoiler tags for you.)

    Holy. Fucking. Shit.

I didn't think they had the balls to kill off a main character. I'm speechless.

    Damn good episode.

I still catch these episodes every so often when they come on TV, but I haven't really "followed" it like I tried to at one point for a while. So your spoiler got me interested.

I looked it up on Wikipedia and it turns out that the main character who died was... Brady.

Who the bloody hell was Brady? Did he just show up in Season 5 or something because I don't remember anyone named that in early seasons, just Michael, Fiona, Sam, and Michael's mother really.

Yeah I remember his brother, but I didn't count him as a primary character since I don't remember him appearing in every episode (or close to it) like the others did.

Or are you saying that Brady = Nate?

Wasn't Brady Micheal's childhood friend that died like a season ago?

I don't consider Nate a primary character, but still surprised me that they killed him.

The way they did too. And the dynamic of his mom blaming and hating him, it's going to turn Mike into a nutcase.

Which, in my opinion, is going to make the show better. I'm not a huge fan of Fiona, and that whole arc that was focused almost entirely on her was getting boring.

I always liked the bits with Sam better. He was a more interesting character than Fiona who always seemed to fall flat despite having an interesting role.

Fiona I wouldn't mind, if she was at least attractive. She's had lip work donw, which turned her from being a decent skinny waif body, into looking deformed. She's way too skinny for her skeletal structure.

    I just finally caught up.

So I take it Anson had something on Card and Card hired Grey to kill Anson and Nate unfortunately was standing too close and it was either Card goes down or Nate does. Knowing how Michael is Michael and would eventually find out, he tries to get him killed in Panama before Michael eventually kills him for being behind Nate's death. Just my guess but I can't see why else Card would suddenly be a huge dick. Anson did say he knew where the bodies were buried before he died. I wonder what he had on him.
