Summary: After the final battle, our hero takes time to mourn the lost; for all his tribulations Magic itself gives him the opportunity to regain his loved ones and perhaps make a few more. For that opportunity, no price is too high. Rated M, FemHarry/TMR

I've noticed as of late a few fics that have used the premise that this story. The one that Tom Riddle is a teacher at Hogwarts, apprenticed under Grindelwald who was defeated by the Boy-Who-Lived, and throughout the course of seven years, FemHarry falls in love with Voldemort.

However, most of those stories either aren't that well done or never completed. A good example is Inside My Mind which was crap. Yet this story uses that premise with a twist. FemHarry is not the Girl-Who-Lived, rather it's Neville, FemHarry's parents are alive and he has a sister, and FemHarry is actually Canon Harry who made a deal with a goddess in order to take over this FemHarry's life and merge with her, in order to defeat this worlds Grindelwald.

Another difference is that Dumbledore and Grindelwald aren't shoehorned in and a rather a huge part of the story. The best part of the story is that Dumbledore, Voldemort, and Grindelwald are each vying for control of FemHarry who they view as powerful and intend to use to aid them in the coming war. Dumbledore himself has become corrupted because of his sixty war with Grindelwald, to the point he has sacrificed his very morale's to win.

I'll stop here as to not spoil anything further, but I really find this fanfic to be very good. This story has just finished Book Two, and is now starting book III. The update rate is monthly from what I can tell. I personally think this story has a lot of potential to become great.

Please don't say that like it's a good thing!

I tried to read the prologue, and even if we set aside the actual content, this story is still pretty much unreadable to me. The author gets way too excited about semicolons, for a start.

If you do get past the prologue, it gets much better, especially by year two.

Query: how far into the fic is second year?

Second Year is Chapter 11, but the story really gets good in my opinion in Chapter 5. This story I think is worth reading just for the dynamic between Voldemort, Grindelwald, and Dumbledore which really starts in Chapter 6.

The author's writing is okay, but I haven't found it enjoyable by chapter 4, and this is really not my type of story.

Story is good. Drew me in.

However there are quite a few typos ( not grammatical mistakes ) that break the flow some times.

Overall worth the time to read.

Only creepy thing is Harry/Iris Potter (and apparently all the teenage girls of Hogwarts) crushing over Tom Riddle, who is said to be 60 in the story. That is a stretch.
    3.5/5 . Rounded up to 4.

If the fic isn't particularly fantastic until chapter 11, and is being suggested for a library of particularly fantastic fics, is 't that enough evidence that it's below the bar?

This was most of a paragraph in Chapter I and it is all one sentence; he is the first person I've ever seen to use semicolons like this; he has run-on sentences, but with semicolons; I didn't know such a thing was done; at least not with semicolons; I have seen some with commas, though.
    I won't rate it because I can't read it.
