How many of these can you relate to?

Wasn't sure where to put this but I'm kind of curious how many on this site feel like they're superfans and how many just like the series.

    Hm. Let's see.

#4 - You get very involved in HP conversations. Sometimes? But only on places like DLP where it's a "thing" and not elsewhere.

#12 - I've read the first 5 books several times, HBP twice, and DH only the once.

#19 - I can clearly remember the breakthrough I had when Hermione told Viktor how to pronounce her name, so yeah.

...and that's about it. Guess I'm not a superfan. I'm sure I'll still "like" Harry Potter in 20 years, if only for the memories, but I wouldn't do any of that BS in the last bullet point, so eh.

I will admit the last bullet point made me cringe as I read it.

Well my main point of disagreement is that I don't care for the Harry potter musical. Couldn't watch it through

    1. Yes.
    2. Yes.
    3. Yes.
    4. Sometimes.
    5. Yes.
    6. Never heard of it.
    7. If they don't already like it, they're not going to, so I don't bother.
    8. Nah, Hufflepuff is fun to pick on.
    9. No.
    10. No.
    11. Never went to a Harry Potter premiere.
    12. Yes.
    13. I can get ticked if people are being stupid I guess.
    14. No.
    15. No.
    16. I try to distance myself from that sort of thing.
    17. Nope.
    18. Well, if I did have kids I'd definitely have them read Harry Potter.
    19. Yep.
    20. I didn't panic really, but it did strike me while reading DH that it would be the last one.
    21. Not really.
    22. Well I don't see a reason for my opinion on Harry Potter to change, so probably. Hopefully.

Written by a fan of that shit musical, I can't stand it, never liked it, and I've tried many times.

Half that thing gravitates on stuff to do with the musical more than actual HP.

Everything but 10, 11, 14, 15, 16, 20 and 21. I made my very first best friend through a mutual love of Harry Potter.

#9 for sure. Playing mtg, and a guy my age makes a joke that only a hardcore HP fan would make, and I was the only one cracking up.
#12. I've read every book at least 10 times probably, the first 4 probably 20 times.
#17 would be cool to go with dlpers I suppose.
#20 definitely. After I read the 7th book for the first time, I felt like an empty shell and couldn't do anything for the rest of the day, since knowing that there would never be another book was devastating. Same with the final movie. I refused to go watch in in theaters because I knew I'd cry when Fred died, or probably just from seeing the credits.

    Hmm, let's do this.

    1. Duh.
    2. Yes.
    3. Of course.
    4. Only on occasion. More often than I should.
    5. Nah, not really.
    6. Uh, NO.
    7. Eh, not really in the same way anymore.
    8. Uh... who the hell cares?
    9. Definitely not.
    10. ...a bit, yeah. I've been told it was awesome, except definitely not when Darren Criss in it. The guy has zero personality.
    11. No.
    12. Well, duh.
    13. Not the same way anymore, no.
    14. I've read The Casual Vacancy, so no.
    15. Uh, wow, no. At this point, I've realized that this quiz is on Buzzfeed and thus vapid as shit.
    16. Oh GOD no.
    17. Eh, not really.
    18. Actually, yes. It's a good series for kids.
    19. Yeah, this is true.
    20. No. And considering how bad DH was, I think I'm justified in that opinion.
    21. I've written fanfiction, I've come up with better solutions.
    22. Eh, probably, but with a strong asterisk attached to it.

    In short, Buzzfeed.

#3. Sort of. Whenever anyone tells me that they like Twilight I take a mental step back. It means less to me now than it would've five years ago though. Someone's like/dislike of Harry Potter doesn't mean much to me at all.

#19. Is the only one I can get fully behind. Her-me-own. Silent 'e'.

I suppose I'm a much bigger fan of fanfiction than of Harry Potter.

    Well lets see...

    1. Kinda
    2. Yes
    3. Yes, but it says more about Twilight than HP
    4. Yes
    5. Not at all.
    6. NO
    7. Not really
    8. NO
    9. Well Kinda
    10. NO
    11. NO
    12. no
    13. Absolutely
    14. Nope
    15. Nope
    16. Nope
    17. Hadn’t heard of it till now
    18. Been there, on opening weekend no less. (Extra credit?)
    19. Actually yes
    20. Nope
    21. No
    22. Probably
I don't think 9/22 is a very good score. Like many people here, I'm a much bigger fan of Harry Potter fiction than the Harry Potter books themselves.

Lot of awkward questions. Some yes, some nopes and many wtf ?! The only place I discuss HP is here, because, well, this is the only place I know that there are people who read the books, knows why they liked them and have more to add than emma watson is sooo hot, Harry should just, have shot Voldermot or dracodracodraco/snapesnapesnape/the amount of sliminess here is too damn high.

    1. Well, yeah.
    2. Not really. Who really cares?
    3. Maybe a little...but for the most part, meh.
    4. Here and with my best friend, yeah. Not as a general rule though.
    5. Nope.
    6. Starkid?
    7. I've never introduced anybody to it. These days, people either know it or aren't going to be interested.
    8. Lol, Hufflepuff.
    9. No.
    10. No.
    11. I didn't go to premieres full stop, never mind in costume.
    12. Yes, mainly the earlier ones.
    13. Not especially.
    14. Not really, to be honest.
    15. /rolls eyes. It's a funny quote, but really?
    16. Never heard of it.
    17. Maybe if I have kids.
    18. If I have kids, then yes, definitely.
    19. I think I got it from the start...although I might have had to ask my dad. Can't remember not being able to pronounce it, certainly.
    20. Not really.
    21. If they're interesting, sure. Although I don't read many, or even much fanfiction these days.
    22. Probably, yeah.

6 out of 22. Guess I'm not a superfan, despite spending so much time on here and having written so much fanfiction over the years...

I really haven't encountered anyone who doesn't believe books>movies. Other than that one I've read the books all several times (though DH only twice, and I skimmed it the second time) and really can't see how anyone could like Twilight period. 3/22, maybe 4 if you count the fact that I discuss HP online exclusively.

Fun fact, the only reason I knew how to pronounce Hermione was because the original segment featuring the Pee Wee Herman character in the 80s mentioned a sister named Hermione.

Anyway I'm definitely not hardcore enough to be a "superfan" by any stretch. I love the books, but I have little to no interest in the franchise surrounding them (movies, video games, theme park, cons, other cash ins). Plus I thought kids and teenagers were the only ones who could get so emotionally invested in a series but 15 minutes on certain parts the internet dispelled that notion.

1, Harry Potter was a huge part of your childhood? Nope. I was more into video games and football.

2, When someone tells you they like the movies better than the books? People have different opinions and likes. I like the books, not too keen on the movies, though I know a few people who think the books have too much in them.

3, Someone tells you they like Twilight better? Again, I don't care. I've read Twilight and I can understand why people like it.

4, You get very involved in discussions about Harry Potter. Not really, no. I'll add a thought here and there, but overall I don't get too involved.

5, When you find out a person you like does not like Harry Potter. Don't care, really. I don't like a lot of things people I know do, and they dislike a lot of things I like.

6, Starkid is the best fan-made Harry Potter parody ever. Nope, that title goes to My Immortal, and always will.

7, You love introducing your friends to Harry Potter. Nope, 'cause everyone already knew about it anyway.

8, Your reaction when people bash Hufflepuffs... It happens because Rowling didn't put any emphasis on them. It's inevitable and justified, really.

9, You become best friends with someone who also likes Harry Potter. Nope.

10, You wanted to watch How to Succeed... when Daniel Radcliffe starred in it. Nope, it actually made me want to watch it less. I've read the book, however.

11, You went to the midnight premiers in full costume. Only saw Chamber of Secrets in cinema (it was a school trip the day before Christmas holidays).

12, You've read all seven books multiple times. Nope, each one only once.

13, You get really emotional when talking about Harry Potter. Nope, I kept the same stoicism for anything I like, really.

14, Rowling is your Queen. No.

15, Your favourite number is 394. No.

16, You will go to LeakyCon before you die. No.

17, Visiting The Wizarding World of Harry Potter is also on your list. No.

18, You cannot wait to introduce Harry Potter to your children. I hope I never have kids.

19, You could never pronounce Hermione's name properly. I could, as I'd heard it several times before the first book came out.

20, You panicked when the last book came out.... No, I had little hope for Deathly Hallows after Half-Blood Prince.

21, You love reading articles about what happened to the characters after the story. Nope, I don't care about the before or after of a story.

22, You'll still like Harry Potter in twenty years. Can't say, but probably not.

So I basically got 0/22 on this "quiz". Which is more than I could have expected, really.

It was years ago and I only read it once, but I'd recommend it if satire is your thing. You'd probably enjoy it more if you have an office job. It's pretty different from the musical, though.

If the list is anything to go by, I'm probably not a superfan.

I'd bet good money that I appreciate Harry Potter way more than the author of that thing does, however.

Well, I haven't seen all the movies yet. So I would say no.
