Leesoo doesn't have any reliable way to know about what Viole can or can't do, given that all of Viole's fights of note (Love, Mazino) have been in places with few or no witnesses outside his own teammates. Ship was, I think, just playing on the assumption that your general Wave Controller, especially among the lower Regular tiers, is a squishy mage type who can't hold up in a physical scrap. He wasn't wrong, until the unexpected debut of the Thorn made him wrong.

You might be right, though I wouldn't expect Ship to ride on a mere assumption. He probably researched Viole's fights through the levels 20+, but as you said, they weren't notable (no surprise; Baam really doesn't need to go beyond his Shinsoo manipulation if he's facing the usual Regulars).

Ship has been behaving like a retard throughout this arc, and at this point I have no expectations of him. He's let his emotions overrule his better judgment twice and both times it has cost his team. First, he prioritized revenge over everything else, and bullrushed the FUG team during OSOO despite knowing that it was a bad idea. And now he went all-in on Anak even though he was well aware that it was too risky a move. His team got routed by Viole and company, and now it appears as though they'll be completely eliminated from the tournament due to him guessing wrong in his final gambit.

I really disliked that SIU played the generic shounen route by having Anak get back up and willing her way back into the fight. The troll at the end salvaged things somewhat, but not to the extent that it was worth continuing. Having it end with the previous week's conclusion would have been much better writing.

Also, fuck FUG. Seriously. If Baam doesn't stand up for himself now, I might end up losing all respect for him. Continuing to take it after FUG shit all over their agreements with him at the Hand of Arlen was bad enough, but this reveal is beyond the pale.

Worst chapter I can remember. Maybe having three chapters dragging out a fight that is merely a plot device (or not even that if both losing means nobody loses) rather then the character development point it would have been if Anak had been crushed is okay with some people, but not me.

Really hoping this reveal makes Viole proactive enough to pull his own game and try and make himself the sole winner of the tournament. That or investigate the Workshop and Emile in order to stop whatever way they intend to try and 'bind' him.

My feeling exactly. Rather than Anak having a reason to improve herself, she'll be going right back to her tried and true 'rush and and throw wild haymakers and tails slaps' brawling the next time she ends up against a strong opponent. And might end up getting mauled again for it, because she's too proud and stubborn to reflect on how badly Ran exposed the glaring deficiencies in her game during the previous chapter. A wasted opportunity for character development on SIU's part.

See the thing is I don't know why SIU brought back Parakewl into the story. That spear bearer is quite possibly the most useless character in the story with no apparent purpose but to act as a massive troll.
Good in small amounts I guess but he does get on the nerves too fast for me to appreciate it.

As for the outcome of the fight between Ran and Anak was a disappointment plain and simple. Having a draw to cause everybody to lose their bets might be a plot device, but it could have been done better rather than having Anak juggernaut her way through Ran's curb-stomp battle abilities. It would have been epic to see her use her remaining stamina to actually swallow her pride and hide instead of using what happened to her as a child to explain why she 'cannot run'.
Honestly that excuse is too cliched.

I don't think Viole is literally a living weapon, I think her response applies to FUG/Koon, unless whatever FUG implemented inside of Viole...

    Or the popular theory that...

That Viole is either A) The son of the Eurasia Princess who was sealed by Zahard or B) Colorless December, him being born on the 25 Night, or C) Some form of the two

He's called a living weapon because he's got a 'demon' inside him the same as Ilmar or Beta. It was by a different process and he doesn't get the downsides the others do (it joined with him willingly and only gives him benefits), but that's why he's considered a living weapon. It's got nothing to do with whatever his origins are.

Colorless December was sealed with Eurasia. It never left the tower. If he was born in the tower (regardless of whose kid he was) he wouldn't be an Irregular. At least not one free of the resident contract.

Baam is Baam. He's a true chosen of the tower like Zahard and Urek. Him being the kid or creation of a tower resident would be a downgrade.

But you have to consider his cave even has Zahards symbol on it.

Has to mean something, especially when SIU revealed that be wouldn't reveal Baams birth date due to it being too revealing.

Zahard came from outside the Tower, and already had powerful weapons and followers when he entered. The symbol he uses existing outside means nothing right now. Especially since we know it's not possible to leave in any conventional way even if you're an irregular.

SIU never said that. He said it was unknown.

That's what Traveler thinks. He's wrong. Or he's right but doesn't know the full story.

    Trinity Seven 30.

Completely fluff chapter, but I thought a much needed one after all the consecutive battle chapters we've had in this series. Your mileage may vary.

    Beelzebub.

ROFL. Himekawa, you magnificent bastard. Props to the author too. Tamura had me doubting for certain.

Nothing up except the raws on Naver right now, but I think we all jinxed ourselves by bitching about last week's Tower of God being the worst in the series.

This one was worse. An entire fucking chapter of Hatsu fighting a Gongbang droid with a pipe. This entire arc has been a disappointment thus far. Starting to wonder whether SIU is losing his touch, or if the wrist thing is impacting more than just his artwork.

The worst part is he didn't even beat it, just got saved by Leroro, so the entire fight could have been cut without losing anything.
