Anyone else watching this besides me? It's a recently premiered show on SyFy about a CDC team called to a research facility in the Antartic about a mysterious viral outbreak. I didn't expect much at first but I am really enjoying this so far.

    Tonight's episode:
Jesus Christ they are really turning up the What The Fuck factor tonight. The screaming monkey graveyard, Hatake shanking himself, the hairless rat crawling out of Doreen's mouth and Ballaseros finally getting what was coming to him. I loved it.

I watched the first episode but it was about characters making stupid and illogical decisions. I couldn't stand it.

Can I suspend my belief? The synopsis sounds really cool, but then Vira went and ruined it. :(

Yeah you can, Vira is wildly exaggerating.

    Wildly exaggerating?

One of the CDC team breaks into a forbidden part of the lab and finds an infected monkey (who tried to rip off her face). The head researcher of the facility told the team they don't experiment on monkeys at all. So obviously he's lying. So what does this CDC person do? Tell the rest of her team about this very suspicious thing she found? Nope! She goes to dissect the monkey, alone, while the facility is put in lock down because an infected person escaped his bonds and is climbing around in the vents. A lock down that lets people wander the hallways at their leisure (you see random people walking around a lot).

Then she puts on loud music, while she's dissecting the money. Her team, meanwhile, don't mention her at all even though they haven't communicated with her in, like, hours.

And let's not bring up that in another part of the facility, that one of the team is with a couple infected people in a room, looking after them. Infected people get paranoid, and they take her hostage, but she gets rescued. The team then put her in the room with the same people again with no guard, and guess what happens? She gets taken hostage again.
The plot is dumb and only works because characters make stupid decisions no one would make in that situation.

    1. Yeah the security people and the doctors do because they have the clearance in their chips to get through the locked doors.
    2. She didn't know Peter had escaped and had no idea that there were other vectors.
    3. They kept the discovery of the monkeys quiet because they were very reasonably afraid that if they mentioned anything about it all of the evidence would have been destroyed before anything could be learned from it.
    4. I'm still not trying to argue shes the sharpest tool in the shed and neither is the show, she got shanked to death for doing dumb things very quickly.
    5. They were under observation, they weren't prisoners and she was the attending doctor. As for her going in the second time did you watch the same scene I did? She didn't go in alone, there were multiple other people and guards and she wasnt taken hostage. They shoved her into a wall and made a break for it.

I have to say thank you. I just watched the first five episodes and it's pretty good.

Edit: Actually, the way he pipettes in Episode 6 really bothers me. Add that to the con list.

Me. Such a frustrating show. I binge watch season one on Netflix, so waiting for updates is agonizing.

Creepier than the cult? I'm just getting annoyed waiting for progress. I was more engaged in season one. This season I find myself being more critical of everything.
