    ?

Don't regular patroni simply drive Dementors back, not destroy them?

    Athenia: See my previous posts.

-The Sword of Gryffindor, while particularly useful in the slaying of basilisks, is not a weapon of choice against immortal dark lords. The "power the dark lord knows not" is not fencing.

While it's never stated in canon, you do have to question *why* patroni drive them off. Given that it seems to be a pretty much guaranteed defence against dementors assuming you can cast it it's probably not because it makes them feel all icky. Even if it just caused them pain a sufficiently determined dementor would probably have forced itself past that at some point in history. Thus the only reason I can think of is if Patroni are indeed capable of causing permanent damage/death. Presumably if you could somehow corner a dementor (tricky, since they can fly, hence why it's not known about) a Patronus could destroy it given time. But hey, that's just my interpretation.

As for Potter Laws, hmm, tricky.

I'm not sure if this one has been explicitly stated, even if it is more of a corollary to the shopping spree rules, but
    - Knockturn Alley is a branch off the main shopping district in Magical Britain that has a slightly dodgy reputation. It is not your One-Stop-Shop for illegal magical books, forbidden potions ingredients, spare wands of prodigious power or other bargain-basement magical items. It may, however, include whores, but if it does then they're cheap, ugly and probably have the magical equivalent of VD.

Sub-rule: Borgin and Burkes is the magical equivalent of Trotters Independant Traders, not a source of awesomely powerful dark magic artifacts.

    - Luna is a slightly unhinged girl. She is not a seeress, a prophetess, a visionary or anything similar. Even if she should somehow develop some magical ability, this is not the reason for her quirkiness; the ability to predict the future does not make raddishes and butterbeer caps appear designer chic.

    - Hermione does not love Ron, he's just the only male aside from Harry who ever talks to her. Luna does not love Ron, she just enjoys messing with his head. No one will ever love Ron; even his mother is only mildly concerned with his wellbeing, and she prefers Harry anyway.
(So much Herm/Ginslut bashing I thought I'd spread the hate a little)

Ron shall never ever hook up with a sentient lifeform of any kind. If Hermione or Ginny are to be bashed they shall be bashed spectacularly or not at all. No little "I can forgive you for selling me to fudge and/Or Voldemort"

And on a sidenote the reason dementors Don't like patroni are simply the following: H is the first letter in the sentence "Happy thoughts".
Dementors begin with a D. Now if you put H next to D you have H/D. Dementors don't like the thought of Harry and Draco Romance. Therefore they do not want to be reminded of the overwhelming H/D stories on ff.net and inevitably try to get away.

Of course H/D is known to cause cancer in lab mice, so overexposure to Patroni could still kill Dementors, just in a worse way than we ever thought possible.

Not sure if this is Law-worthy or not, but I'm too gorram tired to think of a better one.

    - Harry is not a goldfish, so he can remember events more than 5 seconds in the past. As such he won't be instantaneously wooed by one good deed done by Draco, Snape or the Dursleys and completely ignore the past umpteen years of abuse and torment they've treated him to.

+1 Rep for DM for awesome interpretation of H/D.

    And hmm...

-The idea of 'soul-bonds' implies true love between 2 perfectly compatitable people. This usually entails them never meeting, as they are born centuries apart. The use of 'soul-bonds' is not to be used as a pathetic excuse for H/G, unless Ginny is a nercophiliac.

Ron shall not be "cool" or "dark" in any way. He will also never become a Death Eater. His future must always land in death and humiliation.

    - An angry Harry should not be allowed to be soothed after one absent-minded note from any of his aquatences, friends, dead familly members, or enemies. If Harry is angry, he should stay angry until some form of retaliation or violence has occured.

    - Any love/fluff that may occur must be supported by evidance from the actual book or have many chapters leading up to it. Harry barely hugs people that he has known for 5-6 years, he will not jump into bed with any of them or any new arrivals in two chapters.

-Running shall not to lead to anything of importance. It shall simply lead to Harry being able to run away more quickly.

-Harry is allowed only one non-magical weapon. It must be small, like a dagger or knife, just incase he has his wand taken away. Then he can use it to kill or maim the enemy and get his wand back.

-Harry should never be able to kill Dementors due to the fact he gets remarkably weak near them.

-No magical computers unless Technomancy is vital to the story.

-No techomancy unless the author has a substantial knowledge of physics.

-If Harry leads his own legion in the war, he must first prove his power. No joining him because he has promised them stuff.

Thats all I can think of right.

-No writing Potter Laws without sufficient knowledge in the art of spellchecking. -Lord Ravenclaw

Just about anything dies if you shove your wand up their ass and shoot the magic white mist into them. seriously, if you shove your wand up a dementor's (do they have) ass they will explode just like if you drink i think about 100 cups of water in an hour you die. that and the fact that a stag up your ass is never good news. Eww, i just read that and threw up a bit. but, what has been typed cannot (unless by a admin) be un-typed so "so i will it, so mote it be" (I will kill the person who though that one up as it appears in far to many good Harry P. fics ruining them

    Sorry if this is necrophilia.

    Anyways:

-Voldemort's does NOT have a Horcrux in his orphanage, the Chamber of Secrets, his trophy for school services from expelling Hagrid, or any other place so obvious that you and I could find it in a day. He's NOT an idiot, he's a great wizard. The only plausible exception is the locket in the Black house.

-Harry will take at LEAST a month to find a horcrux other than the locket; preferably a year or two.

-When he finds a horcrux, Harry must use a lot of powerful and subtle magic to get through the wards and destroy it. If he finds one in his current state-where he can't even say silent spells-then he must fail in breaking the wards, die, have a friend die, get extremely lucky, or have a far more accomplished wizard help him.

For a horcrux to be at one of the mentioned locations, it doesn't have to mean it can be found in a day. If it was, Dumbledore would have found it already. It may be there, but it must be logically explained why Dumbledore couldn't find it but Harry could.

Fred and George are not secretly brilliant at potions or any other subject, they are high school drop outs with a good imagination.

Bill or any other Weasley, would abandon there family and support Harry.
Harry doesn't have any dormant powers that will be awaken on one of his birthdays.

Or he could decide that backwards logic is the greatest logic of all time and decides to hide where no one will look because it is obvious.

Only a great fool would place a piece of his soul in the control of his mortal enemy. Voldemort is not a great fool, so the horcrux clearly can not be hidden in Hogwarts.

But Dumbledore knows that Voldemort is not a great fool, and would search diligently through Voldemort's possessions if he were ever disembodied. Clearly, Voldemort can not hide the horcruxes under his own protection.

A horcrux is supposed to allow you to live forever. Thinking he would live forever, Voldemort would wish to have the horcruxes under his own control so that he might admire them. Clearly, they can't be hidden in Hogwarts.

But creating a horcrux requires extensive research into the Dark Arts. During that research Voldemort would have learned that every previous horcrux creator had been disembodied at least once. Knowing this, Voldemort would know that he could not rely on his being around to protect the horcruxes, so they clearly can not be hidden under his protection.

Dark Lords are evil, and therefore expect not to be trusted. Therefore, Voldemort would expect any object closely associated with him to come under great suspicion. Clearly, he could not hide the horcruxes at Hogwarts...

-Harry will not create a spell of ultimate doom +2. Nor will will he create one that is capable of buttering your toast succesfully. He is not a Ravenclaw, and will never do anything constructive in the field of spell research. There are only 3 methods for harry to learn news spells without a deus ex machina ocuring.
    1.) Read it
    2.) Be taught it
    3.) Steal it
