Anyone ever read a story which diverges with the main point being that Sirius Black actually is the bad ass motherfucker who betrayed James and Lily? Would quite like to read a fic where he is actually after Harry's blood, and not trying to get all chummy.

And y'know, as evil, deranged and powerful as he's made out to be in Prisoner of Azkaban before we meet him properly?

I think the build up in that book for a bad ass character was awesome, and a Sirius as described in that book would be a seriously bad mofo.

Seems quite likely to me that a divergence like this would have been written, even possibly done to death, but I can't think of any fics I've read like that.

 

I would point you to Catharsis. The first arc of it is complete, which features a very twisted Sirius. Not exactly what you described, but close enough.

 

Shinysavage's series had that. A pretty nasty twist if I remember.

enembee's By the Divining Light comes to mind. Although Sirius is only seen in flashbacks. Both it and the sequel Conlaodh's Song can also be found in the library if I'm not mistaken. If they are not they should be.

Also, yes, go read nuhuh's Catharsis if you haven't. Even if it's not what your are looking for, you are in for one hell of a ride.

Shit, that Firebird series by DarthMarrs comes to mind, but you'd have to read a shitload of grimdark to get to the point where Sirius is in the story.

 

Nah, it's still pretty early in things. (The worst of the grimdark comes much later.)

 

You'll be doing yourself a great injustice if you do not read By the Divining Light.
