I really doubt that would work. Everyone's plotlines are too closely intertwined and there are too many characters that I just don't think the story would be able to work without.

I don't know, I think you could cut out quite a few secondary characters easily, or kill them off far earlier than otherwise without losing the core of the story. Not to mention much of the word count is based on descriptors which further cuts it down.

Of the main characters, Moraine didn't need to come back, Cadusane doesn't need to happen, Siuan and Leane could die instead of getting stilled, Min could be cut out, Thom could be killed halfway through, the Aiel arc for Perrin could be drastically shortened or even cut out in favour of a direct war with the Whitecloaks and Masema in Ghealdan. The Sharra surprise could be cut out completely and reuse Demandred as part of the Black Tower plot-line. Elayne's mother could just die at Rahvin's hands instead of otherwise. And so on and so forth.

Look at the books from Wikipedia...

The events of New Spring could be namedropped in less than two minutes by Moraine on-screen.

The Eye of the World could well be a ten episode or thirteen episode season 1. Same for The Great Hunt and The Dragon Reborn. Fires of Heaven and Lord of Chaos could be pared down into a single season. Same for Crown of Swords and Path of Daggers. Same for Winter's Heart and Crossroads of Twilight. Same for Knife of Dreams and Gathering Storm. Finally, Towers of Midnight and Memory of Light would have their own seasons, though you could splinter it off with a final full-length feature movie for the Final Battle itself.

There, that's 9 seasons and a movie. Not unreasonable at all.

    /Half serious.

Another addition to the wonderful exchange going on here: Red Eagle is suing Harriet McDougal for slander because of her statement distancing Bandersnatch from REE

    http://www.law360.com/ip/articles/621421/-wheel-of-time-tv-producers-sue-for-slander-in-rights-row

However, according to The California Secretary of State website REE's rights as a business entity have been suspended, so I'm not even sure they can sue at the moment. Their other companies remain active.

http://kepler.sos.ca.gov/ (search for Red Eagle Entertainment, LLC and be sure to click the LLC button)

That says "FTB Suspended" which likely means that they didn't file some past-due tax returns with the Franchise Tax Board (FTB).

"When FTB or SOS suspends an organization, it cannot legally transact business, defend or initiate an action in court, protest assessments, or file a claim for refund of paid amounts. Your organization also loses the right to use the entity name."

Either way, for you more legal types out there, the case is Red Eagle Entertainment LLC et al. v. Bandersnatch Group Inc. et al., case number 2:15-cv-01038, in the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California.

The sad part about this is that by making this shit they now continue to own it.

They're probably looking to cash out on it.

Well, it's no secret that REE is pretty much broke from what I hear. They've been pretty much broke for a long time...

Question, with the whole tax thing....wouldn't that mean even putting the episode up and running it be void because of "transacting business."

Sounds like a whole big mess.

    Its a huge mess

If they were suspended at the time then yep. Except from what i can see it looks like there's a new subsidiary popped up conveniently about a month before production started named Winter Dragon Productions LLC who seemed to be listed as the primary company in the credits. It might be a loophole if REE had transferred all rights prior.

Also, i don't know when they were suspended. Also, the SoS office website says that its always a few days out of date because of bureaucracy and paperwork delay

God only knows how it all works..
