Looking for fics which have Harry who stand up for himself, smart, and does not bow down to the likes of Snape, Dumbledore, not afraid to use lethal curses or kill. Basically looking for HP similar to the one in The Lie I've lived.

I just went through Hogwarts Battle School and two chapters in and Harry is dominated by Draco and Ron of all people in conversations and loses to Granger in a duel. Quite frankly Harry is a pussy and not what I'm looking for. Will take a look at the others.

Read the first chapter of the other boy who lived and Granger is dominating all over Harry even though he too his a prefect and Neville is basically Canon!Harry. Yeah No.

I've read the Denerian Rengeade and didn't like the way the author forces him to go to Hogwarts or how he forces Harry to bow down to Dumbledore.

Read The Unforgiving Minute Harry is too angsty and he dies in the end.

Try The Innocence Of Guilt by ENSIGN. It's an older story and not very "polished", but it's in the Library for what it's worth.

 

I don't know about the others, but you have to give it time. The author starts with a characterization of Harry which is not too far from normal HP books and then deviate the more the story goes.

Reading your last comment, it seems like you are definitely looking for typical indy!Harry with instant power up and change of personality without any foreshadowing. Just browse the Dark Arts and Alternate section of the library or use the tag and you'll find them easily enough

I agree. Judging by the taste here, OP might be well served by browsing the older library entries (from 2007 - 2011, I'd say), and don't neglect the recycling bin.

I recommend The Nightmare Man by Tiro if you want something recent. It's not Indy!Harry but rather about a powerful dark Harry and is one of the more interesting examples of the genre out there.
