    I'm bored...

Anyone wanna help me 'flesh out' the Ministry of Magic?

For example, we have Level One:

    The Minister and Support Staff
    • Minister for Magic
    • Advisor(s) to the Minister for Magic
    • Senior Undersecretary to the Minister
    • Exotic Symbol Analyst
    • Quill Control & Rune Translation
    • Special Advisor for Elf Legislation
    • Junior Assistant to the Minister for Magic

I think there'd be other kinds of offices here as well, such as a chief financial advisor, advisors for other sorts of legislation than only those concerning house-elves, I personally imagine the division having a Chief of Staff, I know Minister Sparvin had a personal secretary... I also imagine the Public Information Services is found there... What about you?

And then we have seven Departments!

    Department of Magical Law Enforcement
    • Auror Office
    • Office for the Detection and Confiscation of Counterfeit Defensive Spells and Protective Objects
    • Misuse of Muggle Artefacts Office
    • Improper Use of Magic Office
    • Wizengamot
    • Wizengamot Administration Services

But that can't be it? Come now, if we put our heads together, what other divisions do you think is likely to be found in the Department and what do they do?

Department of Magical Accidents and Catastrophes
    • Accidental Magic Reversal Squad
    • Obliviator Headquarters
    • Muggle-Worthy Excuse Committee
    • Invisibility Task Force
    • Muggle Liaison Office

They seem to have covered it quite nicely, but can you think of any other division that might be part of level three?

Department for the Regulation and Control of Magical Creatures

No Vampire Liaison Office? As predators of mortals, I sort of figured that they have to have one, to avoid hostilities between wandcarriers and the children of the night. Especially after what happened with Sir Herbert Varney... But that's me! Do you have any ideas for other divisions? Let's be a little creative!

    Department of International Magical Cooperation
    • International Magical Trading Standards Body
    • International Magical Office of Law
    • International Confederation of Wizards, British Seats

Something tells me there are more going on there than just those three divisions. Any ideas?

    Department of Magical Transportation
The Department of Magical Transportation is responsible for controlling and regulating various means of magical transportation. It includes the following offices:
    • Floo Network Authority
    • Broom Regulatory Control
    • Portkey Office
    • Apparation Test Centre

Apparation, Floo network, portkeys and brooms? Are we certain they are the only manner of transportation to wizardkind in Britain, except the Knight Bus? In any case, according to Pottermore, it was a Minister for Magic who came up with the idea of the bus in the first place, don't you think that there would be a division/office for that as well? And there'd be others, surely?

Department of Magical Games and Sports
    • British and Irish Quidditch League Headquarters
    • Official Gobstones Club
    • Ludicrous Patents Office

I suspect there of being more than three divisions, what about you?

    Department of Mysteries
    • Brain Room
    • Space Chamber
    • Death Chamber
    • Time Room
    • Love Chamber

Now, I excluded the Hall of Prophecy because it's a part of what I think ought to be called "The Division of Temporal Investigations" and therefore do not stand on it's own. Meaning we have five divisions we know of, yet at the entrance chamber, there are twelve handleless doors (if you don't count the thirteenth, the exit) so what do you think the seven other divisions study? Any thoughts? :-D

(Always figured there'd be a room studying the magical properties of music and how it effects the emotional state of the average human or something).

    What about this?

The Department of underage magic could be bundled into a larger department of Education for things like OWL and NEWT graders. Along with assistant for home schoolers ect.

I would imagin that could well be one of the largest departments.

You already have a Department of Magical Education, and I believe that the Wizarding Examinations Authority is found there, as well as possibly some office working with liaison between the Department and the Hogwarts Board of Governors.

This thread is an earlier attempt at developing the Ministry, FYI.
