Right, and there were FOUR town players alive on the last Day. And we went through almost TWO IRL days with bare minimum posting from them. Hell, even the scum players were posting more.

It's a good lesson for everyone (if D1 wasn't enough) that in online mafia you can't expect to be able to do everything at the last moments of Day. I mean, Delphine just got YOLO blitzed D1. That was also horrible. Sure it goes ok sometimes (D2 Jarizok), but it's high risk high reward and noone will say you should have been around, the same way noone will say it's Delphine's fault she got lynched (and especially when she had mentioned she wouldn't be around to boot!)

Eh. It's a game. Play, win, lose, move on. No hard feelings.

IRL stuff always comes first. It's just a game, there will be plenty more.

Well, and congrats on outplaying town in general :)

That was just my moment of realization of why I'm so grumpy about being mislynched, is that I forgot what it felt like.

I actually thought about this. Usually the games I play on PerC are 72 hours day 1, 24 hour nights and then either like 48 hour days or 24 hour days following day 1. So I was thinking with having long days, that in actuality it was quite possible that I could be having good reads this early as in it would be like the same amount of time had passed. So in a regular game for me it would be more like day 3-5 or what not, but here since the days are longer, if I'm active enough and reading and rereading thoroughly I'll get to an answer sooner.

Sorry but I take games either a bit more serious or a bit more personal than most people I run into.

It's not like I can just turn off these feelings.

---------- Post automerged at 12:26 AM ---------- Previous post was at 12:19 AM ----------

I'm not good at prioritizing. Mafia sometimes comes first for me even though it shouldn't. I've definitely skipped meals for mafia before. Another game where I cried during the game, I accidentally hammered someone as I was late for class. I lost that game in f3. I've stayed up for mafia. I didn't do homework because I was too busy playing mafia. Like I'm just no good at taking care of my individual needs. Everyone else comes first. I didn't apply for a job position one year because I was too busy with modding a mafia game.

Also, sorry for taking you guys on an emotional roller coaster.

owner, don't sweat it. We'll win the next game. It sucks that we lost this round but I think it would be safe to say that this was a community effort fuck up. Everyone on the town played some part of things going awry sans maybe Waco. The scum did a great job taking advantage of our mistakes and holding their own even outside of that.

    ---------- Post automerged at 00:40 ---------- Previous post was at 00:36 ----------

And I say don't sweat it as a guy known to get so emotionally invested that I've nearly rage-quit twice in recent games. I also stay up checking the thread well beyond what is normal, I've hit 24+ hours before trying to make sure my team won, I skip meals and eat when I can find the time, so yeah, you're not alone in grappling with mafia over real life.

Blah, upon reflecting, I think I'm just going to need to be done with mafia for a while.

I mean, I don't think you played badly. I was expecting Proph to flip town and seal my fate personally, but him flipping neutral was worst-case because it was easy to construe it as mechanical info imo (just bluster about how he wasn't town).

Like I said to Owner, this was a /strange/ game by most standards

Don't think any congrats are deserved as it was a randomized blitz lynch lol

    I'll accept this though <3

I have to say, I'm genuinely impressed by the accuracy of your reads as town then. Which makes it harder too right, because if you're right so often then you shouldn't easily be swayed from your reads regardless (which is a balancing game vs. tunneling)

Yeah, I'm right a lot of times as town, but I don't know which particular moments that I'm right on when playing the game. In the game I was multi-gaming while playing this game, my reads were wrong, but I still won in the end cause I got recruited by the cult that won.

I can't believe I only thought of this just now, but did any of you actually check out Town of Salem after I mentioned I'd played it a bit in the thread? I got a referral award on there a bit ago and I couldn't for the life of me figure out where it came from... I'm not smart sometimes.

Also, owner & Zenzao good to know I'm not abnormal for staying up till 4 am or setting an alarm for EoD!

I know I've said this privately (in varying degrees) to people in the past, but I'm done with closed flip games now.

I don't like the skills this kind of game emphasizes compared to WH styled games.

Since I know I'll get asked to expand, my main problem is that there's no way to analyze behavior through the lens of 'what is possible' since there are essentially no limits to what could be included in a game like this.

While in contrast, each player in a WH game (or tinyhunt, whatever) has a finite set of things that could be influencing their behavior.

Anyway fun game, apologies to any who got excessively aggravated by my play.

    Thanks for the game, Snowvon.

Posted my thoughts on spectator chat, but there was a chance there to fight hard enough to overturn my lynch, I didn't take it though because there was very little chance I'd win the game based off of my play on Day 1, plus convincing Kai and Owner was virtually impossible.

Sorry mal for throwing you under the bus; I couldn't really fathom a reason for you to lie about the check on me and I got paranoid as heck there.

miner played really well and completely pocketed me IMO.

Really wish I replaced into a town slot and get shot N1 though, would make the game 100x more enjoyable for me. I hate neutrals, especially neutrals where you can't just claim and do nothing for the entire game. Me rolling SK meant that I was virtually never that invested in the game, so I just tried to townside as much as possible in order to steal a win late game.

owner don't sweat it, IRL takes priority and bad reads happen. Need to read the QT's still, but can't figure out why you were scum reading me early.

Without stomping on the debate in the other thread, IMHO, D3 was the end for town. Had I been able to finish my reads dump, I would have been hard on Citrus as top!scum, which might have been able to help turn the tide a bit, but idk if that would have been enough
miner11121: Nice game man, impressive scum debut.

Looking forward to a quick next game. Need to get rid of the taste of this one

owner: about /m31 in your QT: Yes adding catching scum after the fact was a delayed reaction. But it was me trying to cover a crumb I thought was too obvious. (Hermione not making friends on the train, becoming friends with Harry/Ron b/c the troll experience). I had dropped a bunch of Hermione quotes along the way.

I do apologize if the "twitchy little ferret" comment bothered you. That was another crumb (a direct Hermione quote from Goblet of Fire)

Waco, you have no idea how tempted I was to shoot you n1 :p.

Thanks for the praise, although I'm not sure how much I deserved it to be honest.

Waco you should totally have realized that there's no way I could've gotten that much better at being town when you were like "I don't know if this is scum!miner or miner taking the next step in his development."

Also, miner asking the question of why would I be dead if I was wrong. That was deja vu moment. I should have lynched for answering the same way.
