    I mean, I know we've all joked a lot about it just being Essos, but people used to think that Asia was east west of Europe. Both technically correct, but there could very well be an 'Americas' analogue somewhere between Westeros and Essos.

    Finally watched it. Best I got is that it was really pretty, too bad the writing was shit lmao. This honestly feels like a very competent crew being forced to do things that don't make sense. Acting was great, visuals were great, effects were great, fights were great. Pretty much everything except for the story being told was great. Which is fucking hilarious tbh.

    They do a decent job defending the choices of the living, but I'm not convinced laying bait outside the walls was necessary to bring the dead in. They've Zerg rushed every target they've ever had. Even if bait was necessary, the bulk of their army should've been in the walls. Still, was interesting to see a more formal analysis of tactics on both sides.

    I actually really like Arya being the one to land the killing blow. Definitely would've been nice to have Jon fight and barely survive the Night King somehow, but I have no problems with the death going as it did.

    There were dumb decisions, but not putting the dragons in the field from the start was not one of them. They already know the NK can 1HKO them with his spears, and now he has his own dragon. Original plan was to hold their dragons in reserve until he came out so they could 2v1 him, and that wasn't a bad plan.

    Good to know, but then that raises the question of where he was for the entire battle. He ran off to face the dead in an open field, somehow survived, and then vanished for the rest of the battle. I mean, I'm happy he's alive, but that was still a terrible use of him.

    Right. Just watched. And for once I'm on the side of the people who didn't love it. Normally I'm very much a "shut up and just enjoy things" sorta guy, but I just can't in this one. First and biggest problem is the lighting and cuts. I had to turn my laptop up to maximum brightness to be able to see what was going on, and at that point the contrast was really bad and very noticeable throughout. Was impossible to find a nice middle ground. The cuts in a lot of scenes were also very abrupt...

    Overall liked the episode, especially Tyrion's battle narration and Jamie's scenes at Highgarden. However, I do feel that there's too much going Cersei's way, specifically with Euron's navy.     I've honestly been calling bull on Euron rebuilding the Iron Fleet into "the greatest armada the world has ever seen" in the time it takes Yara and Theon to sail to Essos and back. Building ships takes a long time damnit. He's a great character, but the stuff he pulls is just ridiculous.

    Definitely got the impression that she was planning on murdering them as well. I thought it was a nice humanizing moment for those on the other side from her. Not everyone aligned with those who killed her family are monsters.
