    They're speeding things up for the sake of the fact that they have very few episodes left, and I'm OK with that. This episode didn't feel like it covered enough ground and that's with them largely skipping by the battle for Casterly Rock and the battle for Highgarden. That's really telling, but it's just because they have to bring so many loose threads together and it's frustrating to see it happen slowly.

    GRRM has said that ice dragons exist and in The World of Ice and Fire it's hinted that they might be in the wall. I think he also said in an interview or in the Dunk and Egg book [which I haven't read] that water dragons/krakens? exist.

    For how much I've disliked most of the season (in part because of putting all these plot threads on hold/filling it out with filler and action) this finale was my shit. I was so happy the entire time. I don't think there's actually anything I disliked about it whatsoever. Good job all around to them.

    It's been pointed out on a number of fan sites but Benihoff and Weiss have written 80% of this season more or less solo, which wasn't true in the past, but is probably necessarily true since some of what GRRM is letting them in on is more or less confidential and can't be aired openly in writers rooms. We have to be in the dark on what will or won't be canon and if 9 writers can say "Oh he said exactly this and we freeballed x y z" then the mystery is gone. All of which to say, I don't...

    Yeah, that's such bullshit. He went like 3,000 miles in an episode. They pretty much said the Children made them as a nuclear option when the Andals were first pushing them out of Westeros. I'll wait and see if I'm satisfied by that whole line of details.
