It's a "Snape mentors a brain damaged Harry" fic. The Harry-parts are sometimes cringeworthy, but I like the way the author set the story up.

Other than the ones already mentioned... all that springs to mind is a story where she and Harry, unbeknownst to each other, are secretly (and temporarily) gender-swapped for a school project, and each thinks that the other is a foreign exchange student.

Which, by DLP's measuring stick, probably fails your first requirement and only half fulfills the second.

Nope. I still remember it being talked about in another thread. It's kind of a... unique story, so it does tend to stick in your memory.

And, it's actually pretty well written, though it probably comes off as a bit light and fluffy for this crowd.

It's just playing around with an established character. No different than making Harry into a vindictive smarmy douche, as happens in every Grey!Harry Manipulative!Dumbledore fic.

So long as it's written well and isn't implemented solely to promote bad romance, it could be a great premise.

 

I'm not sure which would be worse and I blame second-hand exposure to so much truly awful fanfic that this even occurs to me, but --

The natural progression from male-Hermione is, of course, a slash relationship with Draco Malfoy. As if Dramione isn't quite absurb enough, the retards pissing on the corpse of HP fanfic at FFn would /jump/ at the chance to include a male-Hermione in their contrived male-Veela and MPREG drivel.

 

Why would that be a natural progression? This makes no sense.
