IP82 is probably among my top three fanfic authors

I mean it. Every story I have ever written by IP82 has always left me demanding more. I love it when authors get into psychology in their stories, it really breaks away from the monotony of the Magic is All mania that seems to strike the new authors these days. I am not saying that all authors write like a bunch of angsty teens, and certainly few of them on this site, but still most of the crap on FF.net is.

Take for instance "At the Heart of the Matter" (sorry, I need to pull up the author if you haven't already killed yourself trying to read it). The story moves so quickly and the emotions and actions are so hollow that eventually you just stop reading it, even though you want to finish reading it. But this story definitely isn't like that.

I hope the next chapter comes out soon, but I do believe in patience for the author, escpecially one who writes massive chapters like IP.

Thanks for the praises. And sorry for the delay. I started writing again after a bit of a RL induced pause. Currently, the next chapter is around 20K long; should need a 3-4K before its over (I hope).

It felt refreshing and good to read this story after my pause from fanfiction (unfortunately I have to continue this break for some more time. RL can be a bitch.)

Oh, and I too hope that you need only 3-4K more words before you update.

Can he put the Imperious on himself? Is such a thing possible? Or, if he learns the phrases, repeat what they did to him, and be deaf to them?

I'd just blow my eardrums & use a magic form of radar as a replcement, a twist on that charm in Resistance that shows if your being watched, perhaps? Might work......

If I understand correctly, he could only be deaf to the phrases if he knew them, and no one who knows a phrase wouldn't use it on him. And since he does not know who has the phrases, he simply has to be alert. This is an excellent way of making certain that he trusts no one, and is never complacent in his power.

It's understanding of the phrases that triggers the brain-lock. It's not some foreign magic that's influencing him; it's his own brain that is trained to act certain way if certain thoughts pass through his mind.

Don't worry, Harry will have his own solution for this problem, which you'll see in the next chapter (which keeps growing bigger and bigger). I'm actually surprised it hadn't been mentioned yet... Ah well.

Indeed an excellent chapter. Even the cliches are done well. I'll be waiting eagerly for more.

How 'bout taking a leaf out of jbern's book and posting a teaser?

My new, revised opinion is that he does the obvious: kill Voldy, go muggle, and get the hell outta dodge.

Or, it is his brain, get a new one.

    Happy Christmahahkwanzramaka.

Second chapter is completed... and third probably, since I'll have to split this one in two parts (too long... again).

Unfortunately, I can't get in touch with Athenia. So if someone is willing to beta this chapter, PM me today.

Damn. If I wasn't already doing something... shit. I'm trying to think of someone who would do it... maybe Amerision? Bah, he's probably busy too.
