Don't believe in yourself, Red. Believe in the vlad that believes in you to write a Daphne fic.

Daphne escapes from Azkaban and hunts a wolf-dog with the time knife.

I’m calling dibs on the story where Daphne goes Muggle after the war, adopts a terrible American accent and reinvents herself as Eleanor Shellstrop of Phoenix, Arizona.

I will never comprehend how a character who was mentioned exactly once in the entire series became so darn popular. And I say this as someone who voted Daphne Greengrass in the poll.

My theory is it's all vlad's fault. He's the mastermind behind a thousand Haphne ships launched from a thousand FFN sockpuppets.

If OC Greengrass actually wins this vote I am going to lose my fucking mind.

    Real talk for a minute.

50 votes right now. Fifty of them. Let's see ten of you submit something this round. I don't care if it's Daphne or Azkaban, but write something.

You really could just start writing a fic about Daphne in Azkaban if you really wanted to get going early.

I actually have started a Daphne-in-Azkaban response for this round. But my point is that regardless of which one wins, do something with it, please.

You know, when there are two super close contenders fighting for first place. It might be an idea to just let people write either (or both). Two prompts arn't going to confuse anyone and it might generate more entries if half the people who are interested/invested arn't disappointed that their prompt didn't get picked.

I'm thinking that next time the poll will be public and not anonymous. I am willing to believe that 50 people 'intend to write' for this thing, but I'd feel better being able to call them all on it. Do not vote if you do not intend to write!

I tried. From what I can tell it needs to be done when I create the poll.

BUT - if we do make this non-anonymous it is not going to be an excuse to be jackasses about it. Annoying, maybe. Sometimes all it takes is a little accountability.

Given that literally all that we know about Daphne from canon is her name and that she's a girl in Harry's year in Slytherin, it's a license to write whatever the fuck you want anyway.

From what I can tell we DON'T know she's in Slytherin. That's not in the books anywhere.

This wiki article has some source references attached for a bit more info about Daphne Greengrass: https://harrypotter.fandom.com/wiki/Daphne_Greengrass

Take what you will from it, and I would wager this would lead to some debates over where canon starts at interpretation begins... Funnily enough, Daphne was originally going to be named Queenie - according to Rowling - which seems to have worked its way into the Fantastic Beasts films.

Edit: I voted for Azkaban. I was hoping you nerds would select my dog/wolf prompt. I had a decent idea about Harry having to track down Sirius and Remus, who betrayed his parents to their deaths. He does this with the help of Pettigrew, who stayed true. Eh.

If we want to be very pedantic - we don't even know she is a she. She could be a boy with a very odd name. Pronouns are never used to refer to her.

Calling it now - buff, six-foot body builder gym-bro male Daphne (named after his grandmother).
