I am creating a list of all relatable wants that I can mix up to create characters for fiction, and ones that that I will dynamically add to the character as the fiction goes on. I came up with only 39 so far. Would appreciate anyone adding onto the list.

    1. Survival.
    2. To experience freedom.
    3. To master a skill or craft.
    4. To travel the world.
    5. To fulfill a promise.
    6. To be a good parent.
    7. To make amends for past mistakes.
    8. To succeed against the odds.
    9. To find a place to call home.
    10. To achieve a lifelong dream.
    11. To feel appreciated.
    12. To build a legacy.
    13. To maintain their integrity.
    14. To challenge societal norms.
    15. To escape a mundane life.
    16. To be a voice for the voiceless.
    17. To bring justice to a wrong.
    18. To maintain their health.
    19. To stand up against oppression.
    20. To not tolerate bullshit.
    21. To avoid conflict.
    22. To gain forgiveness.
    23. To live up to family expectations.
    24. To avoid loneliness.
    25. To be recognized for their achievements.
    26. To avoid manipulation.
    27. To experience new cultures.
    28. To learn from their mistakes.
    29. To be a good friend.
    30. To escape addiction.
    31. To leave a place better than they found it.
    32. To stand up for yourself
    33. To support their partner.
    34. To be free from pain.
    35. To cherish what you like.
    36. To protect loved ones.
    37. To live with intention.
    38. To live boldly.
    39. To give back to the community.

To find love I guess, or a secure and stable relationship.

You're missing pretty much anything that's a more selfish want. Money, power, fame, women, revenge.

    To runaway
To be the very best like no one ever was
    To be acknowledged

I noticed a pattern in your list so I tried to come up with something for each of the Seven Deadly Sins.

    • Pride - To achieve the acclaim of others.
    • Greed - To take what is anothers
    • Wrath - Revenge
    • Envy - To be better than another person or to make another person worse than yourself
    • Lust - As Skeletaure said "big titty redheads"
    • Gluttony - to acquire and consume rare delicasies. A collector of food, drink, and perhaps other things
    • Sloth - I struggled on this one. Perhaps a negative ambition. To avoid the family business. To not attend to your duties. A negative goal instead of a positive one.

Then I got the seven capital virtues from Wikipedia
These seem more like character traits while on the service of a different goal. Nevertheless, I tried
Sometimes I just put an example from a book.

    • Chastity - Avoiding sex is a hard goal. Perhaps choosing love over lust. A Knight of the Round Table going on a quest for his lady or Aragorn going to Gondor for Arwen.
    • Temperance - An abolitionist perhaps? Banning anything from slavery to alcohol as a moral cause
    • Charity - rescuing the helpless
    • Diligence - I have no idea what this would be but I imagine it would be a slow book.
    • Patience - General Kutuzov in War and Peace who delays Napoleon and patiently waits for the Russian Winter to destroy the invader.
    • Kindness - The Gift of the Magi by O Henry. A husband and wife give each other all they have.
    • Humility - helping another at the cost of yourself. Cyrano de Bergerac?
