I've written two novels; neither got to the publishing stage, self or otherwise.

I'm flattered to see my name on that list, given that my contribution to the fandom ultimately boiled down to a novelette that posted 3 out of a planned 5 chapters, and an ambitious 7-year AU rewrite that made it about a third of the way.

I'm still lurking around, occasionally pop into the Discord and stuff.

I'm definitely more of a dabbler than a grinder these days, writing-wise. Still read a fair amount of fanfic, though not nearly as much as I used to.

He had good taste. I'm sad to see somebody seemingly so active get sent to the shadow realm.

I just remember him having good taste as mentioned, being of good character, impressive comportment and exceedingly handsome too.

I think his only weaknesses where being to perfectionist at times and making other men jealous of his large genitalia.

Jbern published a book called “Dead Eye” and a sequel. Both are excellent

JBern published a number of novels. I enjoyed Dead Eye and its sequel, the four D-List Supervillain books even more.

His web site is at http://www.jimbernheimer.com.

He was publishing in a frenzy but then stopped around seven years ago; I think his fourth D-List Supervillain book is his most recent.

It's a shame he stopped. I would have read more by him.

Funny enough, I actually ran into Vash on Reddit a year or so ago on a completely unrelated topic to HP and Fanfiction. I noticed his handle was similar to how he would always add those "Titles" onto his moniker and decided to DM him to see if it was truly the Vash, and it was. He responded friendly enough, but after finding out we hadn't really corresponded much on the forums and I was just an old admirer of his fics he ghosted me. Glad to know he's still knocking around out there in the Great, Wild Yonder, though.

    Aww, that's a darn shame. R.I.P.

It's stuff like this that gives me hope. You never know if/when someone might pop back in. Reminds me of that webcomic: "Prequel" which is always stuck in a permanently "so dead it's not even funny." status until the author randomly drops a new update once a century.

Honestly, we all have to start keeping local copies of the things we like. I've started investing in portable terabytes for exactly this reason. Too many things I've loved are gone forever. I'll admit, some of the things I have found are cringey and don't live up to my memories of what they were like at all, but it's still nice to be able to see it for myself instead of of longing nostalgically for it. Especially when it comes to fics, they're such small text files there's no reason not to save them. I like to save them as HTML files so I can boot up a local copy of the webpage and feel like I'm back in middle-high school reading a Kingdom Hearts or HP fic for the first time.

Silens kicked ass. That one fic he wrote with Harry and Sue Li made me long for a pairing that doesn't even exist lol I remember he could be kind of a shit in the forums, but every one was back then.

♪♪"...And they'll tell you now that you're the lucky one."♪♪

For me, it's always going to be Big D. Not only did I like his fics, but he was fun to B.S. with, put me on to Farscape, and somehow always found a way to work erotic spanking into his fics. *Chef's Kiss*

I remember he used to be busy with a wife and a kid. I guess he must've either just gotten busy with life or hopefully the writing career took off to a point where he was able to retire and live of the royalties. I'd be a little surprised if it did, but I'd like to think he made it.

On a somewhat related note I wish there was still something like Alpha Fight Club around. Out of all the online communities I've ever found DLP has consistently been the best and only feasibly usable one for Beta Readers and getting helpful and useful feedback on writing.

Since this post was made, he’s published another story in the series.

A full almost certain to be completed 7 year epic about an 11 year old thrust into a world of magic and conflict much bigger than them, each book of which is planned out with a beginning middle and end and beta read and edited before being published.

I would say he’s in a class of his own, but honestly I put him with Rowling.
