Sorry for the double-post, but since this has updated a few chapters since my last post. I liked the way the Pettigrew arc wrapped up. I would have done the same thing.

Spoiler: Mrs. Malfoy

The way she bound Mrs. Malfoy, too, was great.

That said, I want to see more Sylvia/Harry interactions. I think the author is building toward that, but 60 chapters in, with an average update speed of 1 chapter/17 days (which is up from 1/15 when I first began reading this in May, then 1/16 in June). However, she’s got an average chapter length of 6,218 words, so I can’t complain.

Spoiler: Astrid

I like that she’s accidentally made Astrid “magical”.

 

The author really loves her cliffhangers, and the latest chapter has brought them back in force after the little break we've had with the chapter before about a nice little adventure in Diagon Alley. Dumbledore took Sylvia's words about the responsability of being her legal magical guardian to heart and has looked into her past.

I wonder if she'll have to tell him about being fae-created in the next chapter, seeing as Dumbledore brought her to

the grave of the man found with her as a baby

or if she'll be able to keep that little secret to herself for a while longer. I'm also liking the tidbits of divination theory that we get. Divination, I feel, is rarely in the spotlight outside of prophecies and the author makes the discipline more interesting by focusing on the small and subtle aspects of it. The fact that her abilities in divination might be related to her fae origins also helps make the latter more part of the world instead of just an add-on of the author's.

Finally, is it just me, or do the chapters feel like they're shorter than their wordcount suggests?
