I'm about 4000 words into chapter 6 right now. There are some difficult to write scenes in there. Working on it.

Seeing as this seems to be delayed for quite some time, anyone know where you'd be able to find the things Jbern's been working on?

Look at the name, it should be obvious.
So, when can we expect the next update, for this or TLL, Jbern?

Shame on you Jbern, you have got my interest piqued, and you haven't even started writing it yet. BTW whatever happened to A Clockwork Orange style Marauder Era fic you mentioned or the Harry/Narcissa you said you wanted to write?

He said over on FFA.net that the next chapter for TML should be out this weekend.

Oh god, a BSG one would make me very fucking happy. If you need any BSG info I'm your man.

Also, greatly anticipating the next chap of TML.

I'm disappointed. It's past midnight over here on the Eastern Seaboard and I have yet to see the update. That hurts deep down jbern, it really hurts.

    ...

    ...

yeah fuck it. I may be pissed that it's past midnight and still no update, but the emoness is freaky. Kill the emos!

Unlikely allies was a salvage attempt involving two characters I don't care at all for. I meant all the things Jbern's been sending in to contests and other short stories, the premises seemed interesting.

The chapter came back from final beta at around 1 am. I was asleep. Six year old daughter decided that 6:15 am was "morning enough" for us to get up. (She knows we're going to Busch Gardens today.)

Fortunately cranky and very pregnant wife remains asleep.

I'm going through the chapter right now and it should be up in a few hours.

As for my original stuff, my vampire story will be on an upcoming episode of Drabblecast, which is a free audio fiction site. I'll let you know when they schedule it for airing.

I'm still looking for markets for the other stories. Rejection letters have a way of piling up. The short fiction market is a nasty nasty place with people churning out their best work for nothing more than a few dollars and some exposure.

I'm picking up steam for fanfic again. Lie 13 is in progress at about 2k right now.

In between, I'm going to finish The Inner Eye of Harry Potter. The Harry/Narcissa piece would likely be only about 20k. I can probably bust it out at some point. The BSG story will take some time.

This is beginning to get depressing. I've checked the thread about 5 different times in the last 8 hours, and each time, there's been a thread update...and still no story update. Sheesh, jbern, I'm wishing the kid would have gotten you up 5 hours earlier. On the other hand, I'm glad you'll be posting soon, and that the over-cranky, hormonally imbalanced part of your family is still in bed. Bully for you.

    Congratulations to the mother-and-father-to-be.
Really, 6:15am IS reasonable for a six-year-old who is looking forward to Busch Gardens. Enjoy the day.

In FF it doesn't show it yet. Delay or did you post it in FFA?

No delay on my part. Try FFA instead or give it some time and try again.

What's a little borderline Necromancy among friends, indeed. As much as I hated the long-ish wait...this was worth it. Not much happening really, but the Hack and Hagrid humor made my morning. I wonder what Bill has in store for the freedom the new plan might give Harry? Yeah, looking forward to more...of this and of TLL. Nice update, Jim.

So Dumbledore turned Harry into a furniture to teach him some humility, however did he realize how much this would piss Harry off? He just further pointed out to Harry that amicable relations between them isn't possible. Don't quite think that's in Dumbledore's best interests.

How powerful are you making transfiguration by the way? One hit with that beam on a target and they turn into something utterly useless or plain dead.

There is a very distinct canon precedence for this type of action, such as when "Moody" turned Malfoy into a ferret, with a simple action.

Logic would then dictate that transfiguration would be what everyone would use for offence, which it isn't either in canon nor in any of jbern's works. So it has to have a very clear drawback.
